Welp, my decapping dies do not push the entire case through it. According to my instructions, I run the decapping die down until it touches the shell plate and then I tighten. The only cases I have that entirely go through a die are the .45 ACP dies that are run through a bulge buster. If my...
I have some .38 Special brass that you can see a bulge towards the base. This is because the dies cannot go all the way down. The crimp die will size the brass most of the way, just not all the way. .45 ACP brass is thin compared with revolver brass and may have more issues than them, especially...
Made room on a shelf and stacked bullets. I had room to stack my last primer order, too. Then I changed calibers on the press and made some dummy rounds. I may have found a length that works with two of the rifles. I'll load a box and let the wife try them next weekend. Fingers crossed. 🤞
I plan on unpacking my 2 box bullet order today. My cabinet I use to store them and primers in is kinda full so I may need to clean out another one so I have a place to put them. I'll need to reload shotshells, but that may wait until one of the weekdays. I have two Lightning rifles to...
Reminds me of the job I had after the owner promised us workers profit sharing. I don't recall getting a dime, but owner, wife and son got new vehicles, a new warehouse, computer system among other things.
Got home from the match and found another box of bullets. It seems the first box was only part of the order. Mail man might be a bit sore today. Had a family from New Zealand on our posse yesterday. Them guys can shoot. Had a sizable number of Texans who were pretty quick as well.
Today will be...
Match today and tomorrow. Hate to rub it in, but the weather will be great. I'm having coffee and saw a map of the cold in the US on TV. It's shockingly large and I see where we missed being included. My bullet order came late yesterday so I see what's in store for next week.
I have a large quantity of brass, half was new and half I picked up used. I learned first that I needed to check finished rounds, then I learned that I need to check rounds with a case gauge instead of the "plunk" test using a barrel. This is new to me, but I never shot this much .45 ACP until...
Started cleaning off the loading bench. The wife came out later and I put her to work pulling some bullets. After the bench got cleared up, I reloaded some more shotgun as the next few weeks are gonna be busy. I also mounted my Lyman turret press on my cleaning bench and ran some .45 ACP through...
Gonna be in the 70's this week and 82 on Monday. With that, I have fewer excuses to do things, but I'll find something.
Watched new episodes of Roadworthy Rescues last night. Even the wife likes it.
Setting steel for two- one day matches this week tomorrow. World Championship End of Trail in...
We always had large dogs until our last one. It was getting to be too much to lift a 100 pound animal into our truck, so I suggested a smaller size the next time. She's somewhere around 25 lbs. and should be no problem when we all age.
I got a scissor kit off of Amazon and we trimmed her head...
Loaded shotshells, separated brass, tumble brass, misc. garage duties. Nap time now. Bullet order coming this week hopefully, getting low on a few calibers. Temps gonna be in the 70's this week. Yea!
No worries for your load using standard primers. Your use of magnum primers may result in higher pressures, so no worry there unless you are at the maximum load range.
