Prodigy 4.25" comp - Range Trip 11/7 - First shots

Agreed - typically what I do for any handgun. For whatever reason I did not on this prodigy.

    1st Rounds through the Staccato C - 11/27/2024

First rounds through the new Staccato C - 4"; compact grip, flat trigger - iron sights. (UPS dropped off the Holosun EPS for it while I was at the range.) I put 4 magazines thru it. (as I was with a couple other folks and we were shooting other guns as well) Sweet, sweet shooter. Last 2...

Well *expletive*, Now I'm going to have to sell my Prodigy Comp......

Walked into my LGS (who is not a Staccato dealer) Friday afternoon to pick up a PDP Pro Compact in gray that I ordered. Completed the 4473 and paid the man. And then, in the consignment case I saw a Staccato C - new model released this year (Glock 19 size ish) - 4" DLC bull barrel, compact...

Prodigy 4.25" comp - Range Trip 11/7 - First shots

11/7 - Range trip - Quick trip - 250 rounds in about 45 minutes. Probably rushed the last couple magazines. Purpose: First rounds thru the Springfield Prodigy 4.25" comp. Familiarity, break-in, check for reliability (based on initial product history). I brought the Staccato along in case I...

Prodigy - Optic Plate issues/screws/coming loose - Fixed? non-Issue?? and Questions

Seriously looking at picking up a Prodigy 4.25" comp in a couple days. I'm googling and seeing all kinds of different issues with the optic plate, wrong screws, etc. Some plates do not work with the OEM front sight, etc. Seems for the most part vibra-tite VC 3 seems to be the way to go vs...

    Insurance Company’s for your Firearms?

I have a separate policy not attached to our homeowners insurance. Both through State Farm. My agent is a firearms owner and I've shot with him at a local range - also in a graduate level active fraternity with him. I know and trust he is looking out for our best interests. We discussed and...

Review: 1911 DS Prodigy Comp 9mm

I have astigmatism in both eyes. I run a Holosun 507C ACSS Vulcan in green on all my double stacks. And 507K in green on my P365XLs. If/when I get a Prodigy, I'll run the 507C ACSS in green on it. The green works better for me - but it can all depend on the individual.

Review: 1911 DS Prodigy Comp 9mm

I'm currently tempted by this 4.25 version. Anyone else who owns and has put rounds thru theirs want to post their thoughts/experience? Thanks in advance.

The 20th Century Called - They Want Their Guns Back

I always thought the 3913 was a great gun. A few years ago I walked into Glockmeister in Mesa, AZ and they had this one in the case. I glanced at it and thought the tag said $550. Asked to take a look at it and it was marked $250. I immediately left, got the cash and came back for it. As you...

An American classic - Smith & Wesson 39 - First Gen. Auto

When I turned 21 in 1985, I really wanted a model 469 as my 1st handgun. My father steered me to get something with at least a 4" barrel (and revolvers were cheaper back then) - I bought a S&W Model 66-2 4" stainless 357.

An American classic - Smith & Wesson 39 - First Gen. Auto

An American classic - Smith & Wesson 39 - First Gen. Auto - (Show & Tell Thursday) Design relied on several features of the Walther P38. Initially developed in the mid-1950's for the U.S. Military pistol trials. Introduced to the civilian market in 1955. 4" barrel; 8 round capacity...

    New Sig P365

I think all the issues with the original P365s have been long worked out. I really liked the P365 - had one that was made 6 months after they were released on the market. Once they introduced the P365XL, I switched to that as my EDC. The P365XL hits the sweet spot for me = grip size and...
