By no means an expert, but when i was researching the SLx i got it did call out a defined eye relief distance rather than unlimited with dots. I picked something in between recommendation (2” - 5”) but to be fair never tried any farther. 🤷‍♂️

Should comment, mine is a prism not dot, so maybe not best comparison for your case.
