Problems with my SA Garrison 9mm

I would clean off all the shipping lube and re-lube with Wilson Combat Lube. I have used it on 1911's for years and it works. I would not jump to polishing anything just yet. On the 9 mm 1911 platform I bought one each of every high quality mag MidwayUSA carried, as my 9 mm is a Colt from the...

HOT Auction items to jump on!

Tried one on...feet could not reach the pedals when I was sitting on a 50 cal ammo can to see out the windscreen. Have to pass.

rv gargage reload room dog palace cave etc etc

Steve McQueen lived in an airplane hanger for a while during/before a divorce. Can't get much cooler than Steve McQueen! That is a really cool set up. I have talked about seeing America in an RV but my wife is somewhat less enthusiastic. I believe her exact words were "I achieved a Masters...

Brilliant. That is real American Dream stuff in my opinion. And with your Navy experience (thank you for your service) the RV must really seem like a suite!

Tasmanian Tiger TAC Modular SW Pack 25 Review

Appropriate on the 250th Anniversary of the Battle of Concord where the Minute Men didn't have their roll out gear and rifles in the Armory like the British expected of their subjects. Here we have an article on a modern version of the Bug Out Bag that earned the Minute Men their nickname...out...

I got married late in life, so I was without adult supervision for decades. One time when I was having a house built in the country one of my married friends that lived vicariously thru my exploits tried to convince me instead of a house, what I needed was a insulated garage with RV Hookups...

    250 years ago, today

Well, Pride and thanks to schools omitting large chunks of history, kids today simply don't know. Can you imagine a teacher instructing a class today that the British were on the way to scoop up the guns that were largely stored in Armories at the time. The Minute Men kept their gear at home...

    Another "Kinda" big bore day.

Belt Fed, you get to the range as often as I SHOULD be getting to the range. Well done! Eric

    250 years ago, today

I live in a college town...it would be interesting to go downtown tonight and ask students to tell me what happened in America 250 years ago today with a twenty dollar bill as the prize. Bet I could go down there with $200, ask 25 students then take my wife out to CC City Broiler for a $200...

    Everything old is new again?

As I grow older I pay more attention to the 5.7. If the day comes when I am intolerant of recoil, and I pray it does not, an FN 5.7 is the answer. I suppose I should buy one now and start training. But DANG it is hard to turn my back on the 1911!!!!

Review: Tekto F2 Bravo Folding Knife

I am all in for Benchmades axis lock but I carry Gerber's Applegate folder for sentimental reasons...when you have stood in front of Colonel himself and talked blades and tactics...you just almost HAVE to carry his knife.

Best 1911 Upgrade? Stan Chen SI Magwell

Oh, I forgot. If I was building a range gun with a magwell, the Chen is the only choice. Stan Chens work is flawless.

    Considerations for Off-Body Carry

My wife's concealed carry purse has a cable in the leather strap. Apparently, in a lot of cities they just cut the purse strap and run. So that is a feature I know she looks for. It is difficult to dress around a firearm and still be stylish, so I have to live with the fact she won't always...

    Happy 406 Day!

Ford FE Big Blocks were also available in 406 cubes in 1962 with an available 405 Horse tri-power set up. By '63 they punched it out to 427...heavy beast, but it made the Cobra a legend. (I prefer the small block version as the big blocks are less nimble but there is nothing like a Big Block in...

    Everything old is new again?

More recently, remember the Grendel from the late 80's? George Kellgren designed a .380 that was loaded with AR stripper clips. This was before Kellgren formed Kel-Tec. It was a compact design and an 11 round .380 was ahead of the high capacity craze. Polymer too...George has quite an inventors...

Best 1911 Upgrade? Stan Chen SI Magwell

Personally, since my 1911s are not range toys and I actually carry one concealed I have zero interest in magwells. The butt of the gun is what is hard to hide, so I want to shrink it not make it even longer. Why Colt does not have a Concealed Carry Officers model in the catalog on a regular...
