Civilian Boat Collides With USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum in San Diego

Musta been the Midway’s fault for not getting out of the way! OK, sarcasm, I realize the carrier was permanently moored, just waiting for the folks in Congress to blame the Navy.

    Marksmanship of Police Officers

Different people nowadays. When I started in 1971, almost all of my Academy class were Nam vets. Today, I imagine vets and those with shooting skills are frowned on as being prone to violence.

    Wild days of the USPS

Tell me about it…they list a rifle I shipped out two years ago. Got a call in March about it, sent them the required info and no response to phone or E-mail. I used to do the BIs on the Postal Inspectors and thought them to be squared away, now not so much. They are the highest paying d...

    D.E.W.

I do not know how lasers can be indirect fire weapons. Indirect fire involves a Target you can’t see, while direct fire involves a visible target. Must be difficult to bend that laser beam. Spoken as a Marine F. O. In the Nam.

    Officers Down in America

It all happens so quickly…any street cop can probably tell you of many incidents which almost ended up in a shooting. Then, if you survived, the dreaded interviewing I.A. Being in L.E. Is not a job for the faint of heart.

You should know who Marine Raider Frank Wright is

All fighting ribbons from what I see. Not like the brass today who have row on row of “good job” or it comes with the rank ribbons. Semper Fi Frank

    Daffy Zone…..

Worked Rampart Area, next to Hollywood Area, so we got their spillover. Amazing how much stuff gays will stuff up their butt. Best of the lot were gerbils. Nothing like taking a report about some yahoo and the critter was clawing at his colon to get out!

Three Self-Defense Pistol Drills for Public Shooting Ranges

My department didn’t have draw from the holster. This was 30 years ago, things change. You always had your sidearm at your side.

Springfield 1911 Operator AOS 9mm Review: Three World Wars!

Like the 1911(not A1) blackstrap. Have a CZ-40b with the same. No hammer drop, but SA/DA. Sorry to hijack the thread, but my CZ doesn’t get much love.

July 16, 1969 At 9:32 a.m. EDT, Apollo 11, is launched on a historic journey

I was in the Nam at the time, on a night ambush patrol. The radio operator heard and quietly passed the word. I remember looking up at the moon and thinking here I am in a rice paddy and they are landing on the moon!

    More Sig 320 drama

Gent tried to kill me with one of those, actually a Bryce version. Looked about as well maintained, except the left grip was melted from where he retrieved it from the ashes of the Great Western warehouse during the 92 riots. Managed to get four rounds out before it jammed. My 5904 didn’t.
