    2 new A salt pistols

And I actually meant to type 1851, so it’s worse than you thought.

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

Yeah it’s the only black powder I mess with, besides loading some BP loads for my Trapdoor every couple of years.

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

.457 round balls #10 percussion caps Saturday is black powder day for the 4-H kids. I’m bringing my Ruger Old Army for a revolver in addition to the club rifles.

    2 new A salt pistols

Top is an 1961 Navy repro. Bottom is an 1860 Army repro. Cap and ball revolvers are some of the most fun guns to shoot. And messiest to clean.

    PULL? SQUEEZE? PRESS!

I always say “press”. First, it’s a Gunsite thing. Front sight, press. And I try to keep people from squeezing the grip as they shoot. It’s a bad habit most of us have to some degree. After ragging on and on against squeezing the grip, telling them to “squeeze” seems counterproductive.

Beyond .45 ACP: Exploring 9mm and Other Calibers for the 1911

I agree with Gray Fox. If you want a SA auto 9mm, get one that’s meant for, and matched up to, the cartridge; a HiPower. (Or a Sig P-210) Although I will confess: Several years ago, a friend bought a 5” 1911 in 9mm. I made fun of him. He explained he wanted to save on ammo costs. Since...

    What are we reading?

Must’ve been great acting, because I think Jack Palance could’ve picked the tank up if he wanted.

    What are we reading?

I read a lot, but it comes in waves. Right now, I’m reading a book a friend and VP of the gun club wrote. It’s a “What if” type of thing. If Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, and Carl Sagan had met in a bar regularly to debate their ideas… Einstein and the Theory of Everything, by Tom Pado...

    Joe Biden Diagnosed with cancer

I always wondered why he didn't run in 2016. It was his best chance ever. The VP of Obama riding that wave? Come on, man! He maybe could've walked all over Bernie and Hillary. As ambitious as he is? He wanted the presidency since he entered politics back in the early 1600s. He couldn't...

    Joe Biden Diagnosed with cancer

That’s exactly it. He probably had the diagnosis a year ago when he was running for re-election. I trust nothing from these people regarding medical information. Not after what we witnessed with Biden since at least the Obama administration and was denied.

My Three Decade Journey with an M1A

I bought mine in Dec 1987 for $660. I had wanted one so bad I couldn’t stand it for a long time. In the winter of 88/89, I took it over to SA and left it for an NM upgrade ($327). I shot my first NRA Highpower match with it in 1989. I had to quit after the 1991 season. In 1994, I was...

Concealed Carry Permit Holders Across the United States: 2024

I'm a little surprised IN still topped 15% after having had constitutional carry for a few years now. I didn’t expect that with the streets running red with blood and gunfights over parking spaces cutting the numbers so much.

We have it good here at TAL.

I have a couple of BMW motorcycles and have participated off and on in two or three BMW-centered forums and have seen none of that. I’ve always found them quite friendly, if a bit quirky (such as the lingo used). However, I have only been on one of those places much in the past couple of...

World's tallest and shortest dog meet and greet

I love the comment “The Chihuahua still thinks it’s bigger”. Some may complain this isn’t news, but it’s much more interesting to me than what celebrity is divorcing, etc.
