The immigration is worse than you think

This. Calculate the energy in that 80,000 lbs moving at 65 mph. It’s huge! Truck drivers require a serious skill set to control that much force. As an aside, I get similarly concerned when I see mom and pop, who’ve never driven anything bigger than a Mercedes climb into that 48’...

Do You Think the 1911 Is the Worst Gun for Cops?

The problem is not the 1911-the problem is police officers to lazy/dumbor disinterested to learn how to shoot. These folks then get in a situation and the answer, instead of marksmanship, is to dump a mag or two (often without any decisive hits on target). I have a very strong suspicion...

Jogging woman mauled by bear in Alaska

Wife and I are en route to Montana now in the camper. Well do some boondocks camping and some trail walking. 12 gauge 590 and 69 Smith .44 on board😏

    Seriously? Rifle?

Yup, sure would. Buddy and I 12-15 age timeframe, would regularly ride our bicycles across town with 20 gauge autos across the handlebars to go squirrel/dove hunting. Nobody thought anything about it. Today the loonies would lose their little minds and a good percentage of Cops’d shoot ya...

Means of securing a shotgun to a walker

Possibly one of the magnetic gun mounts? Secure it to the walker and the scattergun would”stick” to it?

    Sweet 16

This is the key. If the receivers are scaled to the shell they are great. A 28 on a 20 frame, or a 16 on a 12 frame tend to be a bit heavy/awkward for what they are. In a scaled platform they’re great!

Jogging woman mauled by bear in Alaska

Said they’d just moved to Alaska (no idea where from or where to in Alaska). Most people today have literally NO concept of themselves being considered “prey”. Zero idea of the potential dangers in wild areas. I always carry an SD firearm, but when I’m in wilderness areas that will be a...

    .45 ACP history

I love the .45 but I do hate AI presentations “the point 45”, “point 39, point 357 and point 460 Rowland”, oh the 1 300 fps”. Also, The origin was in fact the requirement for an auto replicate the old .45 Colt cartridge in the 1973 Colt that the military had used for decades in the 1800’s...

Loading the Delightful 28 gauge - 3/4 oz. Magic

I never understood why the .410 was “the” entry shotgun for new shooters and the 28 was basically ignored. I learned on a .410 but a 2.0 would have made it a lot easier , but. In 1960 28’s were like unicorns-and ammo for them w as ever more rare.

Sako Launches New AR line in 5.56 & 7.62, Piston and DI

Sako builds great rifles-I’m just disappointed that they didn’t use an original design. I mean, literally, everybody makes AR platforms these days. Does any major player NOT make an AR? ( maybe the problem is just me-I’m not an AR fan😏). The AR, the 1911, and the “Glock” are all made...

Sako Launches New AR line in 5.56 & 7.62, Piston and DI

Just what the world needs, yet another AR knockoff. I’d have hoped for better from Sako….

Where Have All the Gunsmiths Gone?

He’s right. For decades now “all” the kids go to college. Some prosper, most (who probably should never have been to college in the first place) get degrees in basket weaving or paper airplane design ( or some social engineering degree). And then wind up sponging off others or spending...

No more Chineese coders for Pentagon

What a novel concept. ‘Here’s a thought-how’s about we don’t let foreign agents work in our military headquarters? That might improve security”. The moron’s that ever permitted this crap should be on trial for treason! I think the charge is “giving aid and comfort to the enemy”.

First Look: 1911 Operator AOS Threaded .45

You can’t have a 1911 in Pritzer’s Paradise? UnBe Lievable. I am SO glad I left there 40 years ago. Deep southern Illinois was a great place to grow up, but the D machine from Chitown has ruined the state!

    Red Dot Drift?

Remember with bore sighting your optic is a fair bit above the pistols bore. At ten yards range it’s going to be noticeable I’d think. I’d shoot off a solid rest and adjust accordingly if it was me
