I'd like to piggyback on this one. When out shopping and such, I use a cane. Lady asked me if I had trouble walking and I told her no, it was my sympathy-stick. You know, "here, old man, let me get that door for you."

After 24 years working on and repairing Air Force fighter aircraft, then another 26 working commercial and private aircraft, then just three days past the 50 year mark I hung it up. Zero complaints (so far).
