    The New Coke of 2025

Catering to a new customer base when your old customers are dying off is capitalist, and more likely to be something a conservative would do. There's nothing "ultra-liberal" about changing a corporate logo to the company name inside a colored shape. Lots of companies update their logos -...

    I like Heinies

Not a crack. The sharpie line I used to denote the center of the slide (14.3mm to center) for aligning with the sight pusher. :) Here's a better picture of my cleanly wiped frame, just below my heinie dot. :) Now I just need to clean my ridges on my heinie better - lots of cling-ons.

    I like Heinies

After replacing one more set of sights on a Glock tonight with Heinie Straight Eight Ledge sights, then looking at how many of my 1911's also have them I came to realize... I like Heinies. There's just something about a big, wide Heinie with a notch so I can put that front post right in the...

Is the 1911 Dangerous to Carry?

I'd be more impressed by a three year old carrying a 1911. Officer size, I guess?

Is the 1911 Dangerous to Carry?

Didn't like the 1911 or didn't like the three year old? Grammar matters. :)

HGCA "1 of 400" Springfield 1911's up on Gunbroker

Strange. I'm able to search without logging in. You only have to create an account to bid or buy.

    Why no .22LR handguns?

That makes sense - I forget that SA is more an importer than manufacturer now.

HGCA "1 of 400" Springfield 1911's up on Gunbroker

It likely won't stay at that price... given that it's an auction.

    Why no .22LR handguns?

With the popularity and cost of .22LR ammo, why does SA not have any .22LR handguns in production? Not even any .22LR versions of a 1911, XD series, Echelon series (this would be amazing), etc. Seems like there's a missing market here.

HGCA "1 of 400" Springfield 1911's up on Gunbroker

I spent too much time searching Gunbroker last night for deals and found these. For anyone in Houston/Texas, there are two Houston Gun Collector Association Springfield 1911's w/consecutive serial numbers up on Gunbroker. Mid 90's, HGCA "1 of 400" roll marks, OEM cardboard boxes. As of this...

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

Well ****. I had put some bids up on last-minute items on Gunbroker, and one win slipped through for under $200. :) https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1122817149?a=1 Since I have big hands, I've already ordered the X frame (+$53) with the longer grip/same dustcover length and a couple of mags...

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

Remove it, sell it on eBay or your favorite gun forum, and put on the one you want. I get it, though. They catch my eye every time that package comes up and I already have the Competition model. :)

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

In person, that's probably a better deal than that same package online for marginally cheaper after shipping + ffl fee for the online one. They're great little guns - I see LOTS of them in M/GM hands in Steel Challenge.

What are you doing right now??

Just re-wiped the oil mix on the Garand stock curing in my garage. This coat gets to sit two weeks before final wet sanding with the last coat, which will sit for three. Then she goes back together. Probably one or two more coats of Blue Wonder on the buttplate, too, since it was crappy...

With practice, sub-1.5 is easily achievable with full control, with two shots in the A zone at 25y in sub 2 seconds. Sub 1.2 becomes more difficult.

If you're drawing to point of aim there are no seconds involved.

Why? If you train to draw your gun (irons or optics) to where you're looking, you'll do this under stress with enough training repetition. Why risk a miss, especially not knowing what's behind the assailant?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenwood_Park_Mall_shooting Not advocating one way or the other (especially with two misses in a crowded mall food court), but it's not outside the realm of possibility depending on your personal convictions on why you carry and who you're willing to protect. I'm...
