If I stay active I don't feel the need for a nap. Too many carbs and then sitting in my recliner and all bets are off.

Have you considered that naps (prolonged ones or multiples) may disrupt night time sleep? I like naps and usually sleep well except for the bathroom trips, but sleep really well the next night after a poor one.

I'll clean some long guns today despite it not being a favorite chore. The good thing is I can start earlier with the warmer weather and that gets me more energized. Some of the trees and bushes are showing signs of life again. I need to trim a few things, but there's always tomorrow. ;)

The good thing about retirement is that there is always tomorrow. Chores will always be there waiting for you if you skip a day or two.

The garage was 66 when I started cleaning guns and it wasn't long before I got a fan going. I quit after 4 revolvers. Tumbled some brass. My hip was talking pretty loudly afterward. I'll take some Tylenol and take a nap and hope it improves.
