Show off your Every Day Carry!

I believe rules vary from state to state and LEOSA rules are even more different and often vague and court rulings for definition. For example, my wife has an Illinois license. She can carry only handguns using that license and a switchblade using her FOID card. Vehicle rules are the same for...

I quit smoking two years ago when altitudes began to bother me after smoking since 1955 and mostly 3 1/2 packs of unfiltered Pall Malls a day. I would never normally run out and would leave rations behind to have enough room for smokes. Once however, I did cut and dry grape vines to smoke when I...

Amazing what a smoke could accomplish in the way of information. :sneaky:

When Should Hellcat Springs be Replaced?

It sounds, to me at least, that you may have been too enthusiastic with your lube. FYI there is lube available for extreme cold but in my experience running a gun as dry as it will stand in really cold weather solves a lot of problems.

Here is my normal carry which does not include woods or wilderness excursions. I did forget to include my pen, my notebook, and my phone. It did not occur to me to include my phone or credential case. Money is just in a money clip. Watch is either a Submariner or a Seiko PADI solar diver. Sorry...

Ever since these phones started taking dictation, I rarely feel the need to take written notes, except on someone else's business card when they hand it to me.

Review: Tuff Writer Precision Press Pen

I agree about the "clicky pen" part 100%. Like you, I carry the Surefire pen and a Nebo flashlight that is about the size of a roll of quarters.

 Agreed on the sloppy security. I've been there several times to visit people.

Ayoob: Were We Wrong About the "Tactical Turtle"?

I've known a couple of guys who used those old saccharine tablets for the same stunts. I learned to do it with clay pigeons and had a much better hit record than I did when trap shooting with a shotgun. More practice I guess.

Review: Tuff Writer Precision Press Pen

Many sources in the firearms/knife community are offering their own variants and most of them are considerably cheaper than this offering. The problem with this one is that it looks like a weapon and the Springfield Armory logo doesn't help when trying to get through "non permissive"...

    Daffy Zone…..

Where were you working? In 1966 most HS teachers were making between $3,000 and $4,000 a year. Management Trainees at the large retailers worked 60+ hours a week for $3,600 per year. PFCs were making $80.00 a month plus three hots and a cot. $2.50 an hour would mean $5,200.00 a year on a 40...

    Hotel Chains for Gun Owners

Once upon a time several of us took turns going up in the St. Louis Arch. Some of us held the guns and knives, etc for the ones going up and when they were back, they held our stuff while we went up. STL has been rough and it is getting rougher all the time. Even the Chase Park and the Hill...

Burdette Custom Detective Holster Review — CCW Leather for the SA-35

    Small gun shop survival.

Living in Illinois, most of the smaller gun dealers are already gone, and it makes me sad and mad. The requirement for a state dealer's license on top of the federal one plus all the electronic requirements put a lot of good dealers out of business. That said, no retail store is going to...

    Hotel Chains for Gun Owners

The chain (IHG) puts a notice in their online receipt once you have already booked the room. They still say it is a property by property decision but I have not found a property in 2024 that didn't prohibit guns on the property. It has been a real problem when flying in and getting to the...
