I think they are very tight from all that talks about them-may need a full grown man and a small boy to do the pushing. My Dad has done 2 of the XDM 5.25 so he replaced rear sight with a optics plate.

Same pistol I have-had one small snag after I bought it-it was having light strikes-the cylinder end shake was in the .010-.015 range which caused the cylinder to move forward away from the firing pin. Called Ruger and they sent a call tag for it-was gone for a little over 2 weeks-when it came...

I have a Ruger vaquero Birdshead in .45acp and that is exactly right-a spare magazine for a 1911 works as a great reload-open side gate and one by one push out of magazine into revolver cylinder.
