Range Report: Advanced Pistol Class Outdoors, 6/21/25

Training is good. I had a similar class for carbines Sunday. All was fun except my chicken salad sandwich lunch that was in actuality a botulism sandwich.

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

Ordered. It seems like no place around here has caught on yet that primers are out there. They still want panic prices, and at least one place has theirs marked “CASH ONLY”. I’m all for buying local, but not with that treatment.

MEET THE NEW KIMBER NEXT GENERATION 1911 SERIES

I like the optics cut. I don’t like the round butt “fastback” grip or the internal extractor. Rounded frames: They all feel awful to me. Internal extractor: I’ve yet to see how they benefit anything or anyone except the manufacturer.

Five Police Trade-Ins For Saving Some Dough

Dang it! He’s letting the cat out of the bag before I capitalize on it. I’ve been planning to snag a trade-in S&W 64 for a while now. I am a fan of the 65, the same gun in .357 Mag. A 64 would make a good practice and experimenting gun. By “experimenting” I mean I want to try a red dot...
