No, it's basic geometry. The dot typically sits out of line with the iron sights, even if only slightly, and just aligning it with something four inches in front of it (or less) doesn't work at range. The video is informative. Math doesn't vary based on opinion.

If you mean co-witness, like the sights in one view and the dot in another, great. If you slaved the dot to the sights, that's wrong.

Or use really thin oil (FP-10, Kroil) on the "back" side of the pin on the right side of the slide. That, and put 1000 rounds through it. That'll help work things in. If you're willing to use a file and some bluing paste, the work on the slide stop to make a small little indent to make it...

FWIW, I've got tens of thousands of rounds on a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro and run them across multiple guns. They had a certain period where they were, in fact, crap... you can search "blue green circuit board deltapoint" for the rabbit hole. If you have one of the not-crappy ones (a recent one)...
