I do know people that use them on Bolt carrier groups on AR's but again they are a breeze to take apart so i wouldn't them either.

I personally would not, if you have a wire basket it would scratch it all up. found that out on a suppressor. so i put a rubber mat in the bottom and solved that. but something that';s easy to take apart and clean i wouldn't use one.
