    Ayoob: Why I Don’t Want a Custom 1911

Ha Ha. That is the Generational Gap. I finally went to a Glock 19 as a daily carry gun because of my Cop buddies. I resisted because I didn't shoot it quite as well as my good ol' 1911, but it was close enough. And it had over twice as many bullets. And it would not rust. And it could be run...

    Ayoob: Why I Don’t Want a Custom 1911

He is correct. I own a Les Baer 1911, the realization of a lifelong dream to have the Ultimate, to me anyway, 1911. But the prospect of it sitting in an evidence locker rusting away while the legal side is sorted out after the, Heaven Forbid, justifiable defensive shooting occurs leaves me cold...

All hell fixin to break loose.....maybe

I am sure the Dems are factoring this...how much lower could they go in the polls if this happened? Regular, go to work Americans would not look favorably on gangs of people in the cities looting grocery stores...and shoe stores, and jewelry stores because once a riot is triggered, everything...

Recoil Control with Minimal Weight - The MDT Titanium Hunting Brake

While remarkably effective at reducing felt recoil, you sure pay a price with increased noise.

All hell fixin to break loose.....maybe

Ha ha! Shelby himself said no beans in chili, but don't tell...I put in black beans and red kidney beans! Texas Residents are now fetching a rope.....

Adding a revolver to the mix

Remember the ads from Smith and Wesson back in the day when they were comparing cast Ruger vs forged S&W? Thick is good for burgers and shakes, but revolver frames not so much or words to that effect. Pictured with a thick revolver shaped hamburger with GP 100 grips.

Quality of metal is the question indeed. I don't know of anybody at the range that has a high round count out of the Turkish guns. Time will tell, as the old saying goes. Surely the code is good on the CNC machine since so many of the products are reverse engineered (or so it seems) but now that...

All hell fixin to break loose.....maybe

In keeping with my longstanding policy not to insert myself into any risky situation I can avoid, I cooked up a pot of chili today so I won't need to go to the grocery store for a couple of three days....

Adding a revolver to the mix

And I sure agree with ECS686, max loads are not near as fun as I thought they were in my youth!

Adding a revolver to the mix

I am not an engineer, but I know when Browning went to make a .40 cal Hi-Power they had to go to a cast frame as it was tougher than the forged frame. I know, exact opposite of what I thought as well. But Browning knows more than I do!

Court battle over private gun ranges.

Well, here is where we can use the Lefts court cases against them. Since back in the day the Supreme Court ruled that excessive road blocks to access your rights are unconstitutional, we have precedent...from when those clowns sued over access to abortion clinics to murder babies. It boggles my...

Ayoob: Is .45 Still Better Than 9mm?

Still waiting for that list of authors.

Average monthly wage in Turkey is $600-$650. Add CNC Machining to that fact and you get a recipe for surprising quality at a very low price. I have been surprised by the Turkish delights that we got thru the gun shop I helped out in.

    Hello

Ignore that Hi Point comment...when I first joined, I thought they were serious and just about left because if that was the caliber of firearms they were going to discuss, I figured I had no business here. Welcome aboard!

Adding a revolver to the mix

Went out and looked online and apparently I mis-spoke. The .357 Ruger Redhawk is back. I remember in 84 when they came out, but they were so big and heavy they were dropped. Looks like they are back now with 8 rounds. Johann's is an old six shot model...talk about a massive .357 Cylinder...

Adding a revolver to the mix

Good friend of mine works for Norma in Sweden. Handguns are apparently hard to get there, so he bought a Ruger Redhawk in .357 Magnum. Very scarce model, but even more durable than the Ruger GP 100 which is generally thought to be the toughest .357 ever built. Talk about overbuilt!

WTF is happening in New York?

That early voting stat is interesting...perhaps like ol' Hilary the media has just been slanting everything to make it look like a slam dunk to keep the turnout low. I can only hope that is the case.....

St. Paul Mayor, Councilors Considering Ban On Many Common Semi-Auto Firearms

WTF is happening in New York?

Well, if he does win and runs New York into a ditch with his plans, perhaps voters will learn from this. Probably not, but I can dream. Wall Street is already all set to move to Texas. Smart money has already moved out of the State. This will be a real disaster, and the voters are going to...
