Now that you mention it, I have heard that windex works well but have never tried it IIRC. I have tried straight ammonia tho- and mixed with water- it worked well. I tried mixing it with straight water cuz the straight ammonia stench really gets to me.

I have read that the corrosive primers last longer than non-cor... is this the case? Any comments? I've personally fired some late ww2 nazi (Czech-made- steel case, steel jacket) corrosive stuff that was dyn-0-mite well into the 2010's.. anyone else?

Having fired a lot of mil-surp corrosive, (I collect and shoot mil-surp firearms, and stacked surplus ammo high and deep when it was widely available and cheap) I recommend the hot soapy water... run the patched rod up and down the barrel (breech-end) while the front of the barrel is submerged...

Those Jap rifles, assuming they're in "cared for" condition, are actually excellent rifles.. used to see a few vet bring-backs in the deer woods in the '60's and early '70's. Generally accurate and hard-hitting even in the 6.5, one of the strongest actions out there. Wish now that I'da picked up...
