    Going back to the beginning

The SA-35 is a nice pistol. I think you'll like it. I sure like mine. A 9mm was the first pistol for me to shoot. It was a Walther P-38 left to me by my grandfather who got it from one of his cousins that was in the 82nd Airborne WW II. I first shot it when I was 10 yrs. old some 57 years...

The Glock 17: The Gun That Started It All

I've found Glocks to generally be soft shooting. But I have a Glock 43, it is one of the most uncomfortable guns to shoot I've owned. I tried to trade it for a sig but the manager wouldn't do the trade, said he couldn't sell it. On the same hand, the Gen 4 Model 17 is a very easy shooter...

Bear Attacks Man, Saved By Neighbor with a 45 ACP Pistol

The question was how would you react? The guy with the gun was just standing on his drive way when the bear attacked. He came forward with what he was carrying and took care of business. In my case that also would of been confronting the bear with what I was carrying which would of been a 9mm...

Bear Attacks Man, Saved By Neighbor with a 45 ACP Pistol

I would hope repeated shots from a 9mm with 124gr +p+ hollow points would stop a rabid bear.

Guess I'll share my video with you guys and gals. TASER Hit.

I was a Taser instructor for my department and I've seen Tasers work and I have seen them fail. The failures could usually be attributed to operator error. By error I mean they didn't deploy the Taser properly as in insufficient spread of the darts, didn't take clothing into account, or...

    Senator/ House Constituent Quorum

Too many politicians don't think along the lines of doing as their constituents want but they act on what they believe to be best for their constituants. Of course they think they know what's best. ( aka what's best for themselves and their chronies) And while I have the soap box out...

    Senator/ House Constituent Quorum

Remember Pelosi "we need to pass this so we can see what's in it". I think a bill should be published for the public and representatives given time to read the bill and receive input from their constituants before any vote is taken. Remember good old LBJ's quote " legislate in haste, repeal...

    Senator/ House Constituent Quorum

It would slow the process down to a crawl, it would eliminate back room deals, there are some positives to such an idea.

Beyond .45 ACP: Exploring 9mm and Other Calibers for the 1911

There was a time when the thought of a 9mm 1911 was blasphemous. Nowadays, with aged and arthritic hands, a 9mm 1911 allows me to shoot enough to keep my skills up. Thankyou Springfield for the Ronin 9mm.

    First Springfield

I have a SA-35 with a 25000 serial number and the extractor broke right off the bat. I returned it to Springfield and they promptly fixed and returned it. It is now one of my favorites. It conceal carries reasonable well and shoots great.

    Carrying multiple guns

The reasons I always thought an second handgun was a good idea, was 1, jordan type holsters were bad for dumping revolvers in an obstacle ridden foot chase, and2, if my handgun was taken from me in a "donnybrook". A holster strapped to my vest under arm worked o.k. but was a little slow. The...
