    Anyone carry TWO?

When you study gunfights, a surprising number of them result in wounds to hand, arm, and gun. People tend to focus on the threat, so this makes sense. Probably the fight is over if this happens, but lets explore the options. A right handed guy carrying a 1911 on the strong side inside the...

For you 1911 guys how many mags do you carry?

Haynes is spot on about the malfunction drill. I carry one spare mag for the 1911 for sure, and generally two. I carried a single spare when I carried the Glock 19 or Glock 26/19 in case of a malfunction. Not out of thinking I was going to need more rounds because of my low risk lifestyle.

And the hits just keep on coming for Ford.

Unless you can write it off on your business, a lease is just throwing money away. If you want a different/something "new" every couple of years, buy a low miles used car and trade it every couple of years. Will likely not have anything major go wrong that early in its life. But I cringe for...

How is your 1911 set up?

Pieter, Wilson Combat made the checkering strip held on by the grips. Not as aggressive as "proper" checkering, but better than nothing. Once you have a 1911 with checkering or stippling, it is hard to go back. Another vote for the arched mainspring housing, even though I started with a Gold...

    What’s a Roach Belly?

We called them Perch Belly Knives when I was a young man. Very handy blade design.

Major win in DC for 2nd Amendment

They swear an oath to protect the Constitution. If they write a law that is later found Unconstitutional, they should be stripped of their office, deigned the benefits and pension and be forever barred from holding office again. I suspect that would fix a lot of things right there.

And the hits just keep on coming for Ford.

Modern cars are too complicated. Small block Ford or Chevy, manual transmission. I have not received any recalls on my Chevy or Ford. Just saying.

    Kids today....

Which means anyone without grey hair. Anyway, you owe it to them to break out a Smith & Wesson K Frame and a box of 148 Grain Wadcutters at the range and let them see how easy it is to casually dot off groups their plastic hi-caps can't even manage in Hollywood. Life is good...and it is better...

    Who’s Up for a NEW WILSON - $200 and It’s Yours!

I never played marbles in my life. I thought those glass balls were slingshot ammo until I was an adult.

    A G Russell Sting

We share a lot of the same taste in guns and blades...and letter openers. This is a simple, elegant design that is very balanced in the hand. And the letter opener got me into a NPE Auto Auction last year, so it is still relevant.

First Look: Polished Blued SA-35 9mm

Someone say two tone Browning? Factory two tone model they called the "Practical". Some had adjustable sights, and some had fixed if you were serious about carrying it. This has at various times swapped places on my hip with the 1911.

    wheel of fortune

When I was a kid, we camped because it was cheap. Only vacations I knew. I still enjoy it, but only in cold weather. I am not camping in the summer in Missouri ever again!

A few questions to get me started?

Gents, we have a new to the hobby guy that is asking serious questions and looking for help. The Hy Point discussion almost ran me off the forum because I thought you were serious. Please don't do that with a new shooter.

A few questions to get me started?

As mentioned, we need to know what your are planning to use it for. A Beretta 92 is a fantastic first gun if you don't like Glocks. It is kinda big to carry concealed, but that is one reason everybody seems to shoot it well. Unless they have really small hands. The trigger is another, much...

Are Gun Shows worth your time?

Another thing about the interweb...it has added money to the hobby. Just like cars and vintage motorcycles, before the internet, stuff for classics ( ) fill in the blank, cars guns, motorcycles, everything else in the world, was very time intensive. Had to go to shows to find what you are...

    Calling all motorcycle enthusiasts.

The British bikes were great fun on back roads around Missouri, but sometimes a fella has to tour out of State. The reliability and smooth powerplant of the Japanese bikes were hard to pass up. The Interceptor was a fantastic sport touring bike. By knocking off some of the hard edges of a pure...

    Calling all motorcycle enthusiasts.

I was the only Triumph rider I saw at Aspencade! I bought my first house brand new when I was 22. Had a bed and a desk, so when the people at my office wanted to throw a housewarming party, I moved the motorcycles into the living room so they would have a place to sit. Ah, the bachelor life!

    Springfield’s 10-8 Performance Master Class 1911

Not my cuppa as Simon sez, but that is because I have not shot in a competition in decades. This has too many features for a carry gun. (for me at least) I am too old to unlearn the Harries Technique, so no light rails for me. No ambi safety as I am not a lefty and an ambi gets swept off too...
