    J Frame? Well....

Here is a better view of the sights on the Pro Series 60. Three inch bbl, .357 Magnum (just in case, but real advantage is not afraid of any +P .38 rounds) sights my over 60 year old eyes can see, round butt for concealment...enough in the plus category for me to overlook the big negative which...

What are you doing right now??

I took Shelby out too. Clear and cold here, so it was a short trip but I need to to keep my head on straight during the Holidays!

    J Frame? Well....

Mike P that is just a garden variety S&W 36-1. The newer Pro Series also has good sights, so I ended up getting one despite the internal lock and all that implies. It is a beast with .357 loads, but has a comfortable strength margin when shooting the .38 Plus P load I prefer, the lead...

    J Frame? Well....

Yes, I know a lot of guys carry these because they are so easy to pack. Harder to shoot with that short sight radius, small grips and small sights. If you put on bigger grips, you should carry a K Frame as they are easier to shoot under stress. If you belt carry a J frame, please look into a...

Ed Brown is a top shelf, both in execution and design. A centerpiece in ones collection. Well played, sir.

    New Chevrolet ad

I figured. And I meant to add about the Corvette the old me would have said "Four on the floor and a Fifth under the seat" but I am responsible now.

    The Old New York Reload

Two J Frames seems a tad silly to me...K Frame is just as easy to hide with a shoulder rig and the guns are much easier to shoot; better sights and easier to get a good trigger job done.

What are you doing right now??

Looking forward to your review of the pellet grill rcurtner! Right now I am watching Perry Mason which I do every morning with a cat at my side. I plan my day at commercial breaks. Going to go see my folks today.

    The Old New York Reload

The thing about a two gun shoulder rig is driving. Very comfortable and seat belts are no problem. Plus with two guns it is a force multiplier. I have friends who have CCW permits and still don't carry all the time. Drives me crazy. But I can pass a revolver over to them if trouble starts. By...

Hornady Backcountry Defense Review — Bear Defense Ammo

For what it is worth, the author is a stand up guy. Even said a prayer when we sat down for lunch, and that is something you don't hear too often anymore. A family man that won't write or tell a lie no matter how much free ammo they give him. He hunts hard too, not just with a keyboard.

Can’t even get rid of my Glock 45 MOS with GPT, a Swampfox Liberty II, and optics height sights…

I don't try and haggle down my local gunshop. Paying full sticker is what I call the "Gunshop Tax". I don't buy guns that often. But I go into the shop once a week, get caught up with the new guns and gossip, maybe buy some powder or some ammo. If you don't buy, they won't stay open. So margins...

EDC Options (part 1 of 2)

Eversearching it is a Backdraft Cobra, factory built in South Africa not one of the original 1100 or so Cobras built by Shelby. As such, I can drive it and park it without worrying! At 5 foot five inches I can carry a full size 1911 no problem with an inside the waistband holster. It will be...

The Origin of the Commander-Size 1911

Almost forgot about this Commander...vintage Combat Commander worked over by Bob Chow. He was an Olympic shooter and generally worked his magic on Bullseye 1911's, but he did a few serious carry pieces as well.

The Origin of the Commander-Size 1911

I am also fond of my Sig "Commander" but I wish it had the fine cut cocking serrations (those wide ones look like a cheap imported copy of a 1911 to me). And all one color, or a proper two tone hard chrome lower and blued upper. But I do like the Bobtail and the chambering. This is a .357 Sig...
