Another variable added to the mix...

The “horrible” trigger pull in DA can be overcome with practice. I was LAPD in the 70s, and all our wheelguns were DA. I was a strong sharpshooter and occasionally ventured into Expert territory. Strong pull to the trigger break and then gentle.

Shoulder Holsters for Concealed Carry: Boom or Burden?

Concealment…belt rigs risk being spotted if underage one shirt, shouder rigs not so mush. Especially under a suit coat. With a backpack, the waist belt kinda precludes a belt holster.

End a Home Invasion Before It Starts

Used to teach this stuff at Basic Car meetings in the 70s. Advised people to trim their hedges to below their windows to make burglars visible and to make hedges out of stuff with thorns!

Detecting a Tail and What to Do Next

Had a sister Officer who was followed home and ended up shot in a gunfight. They do not like us. Be spatially aware. Had some clown, back in the 70s, following me and twice try to run me off of the freeway in L.A. third time I displayed my ,38 as he headed my way and he took off. Be aware...

Where does your state stand on this 2025 gun ownership map?

IMO, outside of the coastal cities, I imagine Kali is very blue. At least it was when I I fled to Utah in 2001. The left was predominant from San Diego to Eureka

    North American Arms Plug

Back in the day, the .32 was what the majority of folks carried, especially in the Black community. Saw a number of perps holed with one shot ending the fight. Suspects must be made of sterner stuff nowadays, needing multiple holes from a 9 or larger. Fact of the matter is that my grandfather...

Why Seattle needs to follow 2A

Looks like Emiliano thinks he is a ninja. I imagine this was a gang initiation gone bad. When I started in LE in 71 the gangs were mostly territorial and armed with sawed off shotguns and .22 rifles. By the time my career was ended in 1992, you could hear automatic gunfire in the distance...

Connecticut Moves Forward with Glock Ban

Don’t talk too loudly…that is the Demo line. Start with the easy stuff, then move on. My father left the Conn and NJ area in 1938. Thankfully, I was born in Kali,,as was my brother..,a 40s California. He went back in1969, when Iwent to the Nam. Only stayed long enough to visit relatives and...

I've Had My Fill - Looking For Recommendations

Well, it you like isolation, Wilcox is good for that. Only occasional tourists heading south. If you are retired military, Sierra Vista is by Fort Huachuca. Other nor that, south of Tucson has lots of very small towns, although I wouldn’t get to close to the border.
