I fired the shot to seperate my 2 dogs from the 3 dogs trying to stop the dog fight. It worked. Every dog scattered and ran away. If I needed too, I had plenty of distance from the dogs and could have taken a well aimed shot, but didn't. I don't want to kill a dog unless I have no choice.
