Had a friend growing up whose father had his father's 1911 magazines loaded since WWII (7 rounders). We shot them in the mid-80s, so 40+ years later they worked just fine. I don't leave anything loaded longer than a few months....as I change my mags when the time changes each year, so twice...

I only have one friend that has them - and it’s on a Hornady press. He is much newer/younger to reloading than me, so he’s fine with it. I guess it’s more about what your grew up with than anything else. I personally can’t find a need/use for them. I’m quite content with loading what I already...

Is the only difference between the 3 and 4 the optic cut on the 4?

I talked to my friend and he said what we saw was an EAA Witness compact in 10mm, not a CZ, but basic CZ dna.

I’ll check my notes. I know at one time I shot a Special load, but magnum brass. Nothing is more fun than when you get it done with a 41.

You maybe right. I just swear I was handling a foreign-born 10mm. I’ll have to ask my buddy that does most shows with me if he remembers.

Pretty sure CZ has done a 10mm before. I’d almost swear I’ve held one at a gun show within the last 10 years or so. Not sure of the model number ?

Never really left steel. Admittedly I’ve embraced polymer, like I had to embrace automatic transmissions. When I do carry outside the Hacienda, it’s either a 1911 of some flavor, a 3rd Gen Smith, or a Sig P229 if I’m feeling particularly bold. They all have their place.
