    Why revolvers?

Before my time in the firearms world, honestly. I didn't get into firearms since like 2010ish and by that time the plastic fantastics Block 17 and 19 were everywhere. I have seen the points about simple to use etc... Aside form having to swipe a safety, I don't' see a 1911 being harder to...

    Why revolvers?

So I start by prefacing this with two statement. I have never really been a revolver guy and I love 1911s I have been watching some older moves lately - just watched The Untouchables...not really that great of a movie, honestly, but that's another subject. But it got me wondering, why, why...

Data on distance of shootings in LEO shootings

Our agency just did CQB/room entry training. Blue guns, no projectiles at all, not even sims. Just basic, 101 training. They would training a scenario then we would practice it. It was amazing how often someone would want to immediately close the gap to secure a knife or gun from the bad guy...

the Supreme Court struck down Hawaii’s rule that banned carrying guns on most private property that is open to the public

PA is the same way. Unfortunately, some states, as long as they are worded and posted correctly, the sign does is law

    Um, Not for Me, I Don’t Think…

My thought is even one round coming at you is going to FEEL like a sustained gun fight. All of your senses will be enhanced, your adrenaline will be pumping. So adding in stress into your training is a good thing

    Boot knife

That's what I was figuring. Fpr that price, I might try it. But I really don't think I would like how it feels

the Supreme Court struck down Hawaii’s rule that banned carrying guns on most private property that is open to the public

This was a great ruling. The problem is, now we need a good court case that just eliminates the no gun zones altogether Because now they will just create a law and signage that owners can post and bam, they're limited again. We really need SCOTUS to just actually enforce the 2nd and do away...

    Um, Not for Me, I Don’t Think…

I like the idea. maybe not the safest or best idea, but the overall idea. Anything that introduces stress is good. Only doing flat, static training isn't the best training. While 99% of us here will never be in a situation like John Wick, we all must accept the reality that there is a chance...

    kimber?????

On the topic of magazines, I have two Ed Brown mags that don't work will in my Kimber. Well, they don't work perfectly. They feed just fine, but they don't release right. The notch in the mag is in a slightly different location, higher or lower, I don't remember, then the factory mags, do it...

    Boot knife

I guess I should have been more specific. Is the knife laced in the boot laces, or carried inside the boot. The inside seems very uncomfortable. The laces seem impractical as I just don't see the geometry working out.

Can we have a little fun WHAT Would you pick?

I love the concept of a PCC but I just can't get past the fact that it is still a pistol caliber. I have kicked around the idea of a PCC in 10MM. If we're talking something portable, I would probably go with a 300 black out in a 8 to 10 inch barrel. If purely home defense, probably an AR 10...

The North American Rescue Combat Application Tourniquet (C-A-T)

Our agency FINALLY issued tourniquets. Most of us had already bought our own. While on duty, I carry one on my belt and keep a trauma kit in my trunk. Off duty, I don't carry one but I do have a trauma kit in my trunk of my car and on reare occasion I will carry that.

    Police Officer shoots dog

Most dog shootings really bother me. This one seems legit. If you're actually attacked, then lethal force is justified. Becuase of the nature of my job, I go into homes more than typical law enforcement officers. Many have pitbulls and a lot more than one pit. I went into a home once with 14...

Breaking News: Supreme Courts strikes down law banning habitual marijuana users from owning firearms

Alcohol does the same, or worse, and there are no laws against drinkers owning firearms. Still, shall not be infringed means shall not be infringed

Breaking News: Supreme Courts strikes down law banning habitual marijuana users from owning firearms

I do think convicted felons should have gun rights after they have served thier sentence, inclduing any parole or probation. Not even, "resotred", just have them. No process. Just boom, the minute you're done, you have your rights. No courts, no lawyers, no paperwork, just automatic
