Are you sure it can't still be tracked? I'm pretty sure the emergency location ability was one of the reasons they made them so you can no longer remove the battery. I believe so, or at least didn't they make a conversion for .357sig with the .40. Maybe it was just the XD platform and not the XDM or XDM-Elite. -
