    Everyone Okay?

Its been unusually hot and dry here in South West Tennessee. Temps in the upper 70s and not much rain. A cold front came through today with a little rain and temps dropped to the upper 50s. Normal April weather here should be temps in the mid-60s and lots of rain.

Now TEN Missing Nuclear Type Scientists

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but now 11 missing or dead? A couple just walked away with no car, no ID and no phone, but they did take a gun? Even I admit that this sure sounds hinky.

    Troubling news.

Indications are that the guy knew exactly what he was doing. He got caught. So be it.

2 Hours left...How much would you pay for this?

For some years now people with very deep pockets have been buying up all kinds of collectible guns at ridiculous prices. Smith & Wessons, Colts and a few others. GB is full of these guys. Speculation is that they're buying them as investments. I have to wonder if they know how long it takes for...

2 Hours left...How much would you pay for this?

A nice gun for sure. But nowhere near worth what it sold for.

Where does your state stand on this 2025 gun ownership map?

Tennessee shows 52%. I think that our gun owners are lying. The number should be much higher. Everybody I know has at least one gun. ;) As for California, bear in mind that the vast majority of their population lives along the coast. Check a voting map and you'll see than once you go 2-3...

    Gun Forums of Yore...

My first gun forum was the original The Firing Line some 25 years ago. It was a small community at the time and we were all pretty close. But the original owner was a bit full of himself and didn't take well to criticism. (putting it mildly) He ended up running a lot of good people off. He was...

Deepest Apologies - Thank You TAL

Interesting...... I don't seem to remember any particular scuffle. We all poke at each other from time to time. That's just the internet life. ;)

Perhaps the last 1911 that will ever see federal government service

Without tearing the gun down and inspecting it myself, I can't say for sure. The series 80 firing pin safety plunger lifts up to allow the firing pin to move and is spring loaded to force it back down to the safe position. So a sticking plunger would keep the safety in the fire position. I...

Is the S&W 396 Night Guard the Ultimate .44 Special Carry Revolver?

A bit too light for me. It would be a real hand full with heavy bullet .44 Special loads. I like my 696 no-dash. Same gun but in stainless steel. I have carried it when hiking and camping in places where bigger critters roam. Never felt a bit undergunned. ;)

    Daffy Zone…..

No, they were actually in some form of business administration. She was an administrator at the local VA. Very smart at her job, but totally lost in everyday life.

I once dated a woman that had two PHDs. Poor girl was dumb as a box of rocks.

    Question about HP-38 / Win 231 powder?

Win 231 has been my go to powder for non-magnum handgun calibers for many years. I've used it in everything from .32 S&W to .44 Special with excellent results. Other powders will likely produce more velocity, but 231 works well in so many different cartridges that I stick to it. As far as your...

First Look: Julie Golob Reviews the 4" SA-35

I think SA hit a major home run with the design of their manual safety. Its far better than the original and even better than the C&S which I have in one of my guns. Unfortunately they won't sell it to regular customers. They consider it a safety item that must be fitted by a competent...

    The Byrna "Banana"

30 seconds to a minute for the powder to take effect? More than enough time to get killed. Again a big NOPE! 🤬
