GIrsan MC P35. Who else has one of these Hi-Power Mark III clones?

I've taken out the mag disconnect on several of my Hi-Powers. To be honest, it doesn't make much difference in the trigger pull at all. Maybe just a tiny bit smoother, but very little difference in pull weight. I think that's an over blown myth. The real advantage to removing the disconnect is...

    On non lethal SD

I'm too old to fight, too decrepit to run. But I still shoot pretty good.

GIrsan MC P35. Who else has one of these Hi-Power Mark III clones?

I'm a big fan of the Hi-Power and its clones. I have several of them including two of the Girsans. I have one full size OPS model and one LW PI model. Good guns, shoot well. The trigger isn't that good, but you can get used to it. The OPS model has all the bells and whistles and...

Why Do So Many Prosecutors Let Criminals With Illegally Converted GLOCK Pistols Walk?

Here in Shelby County (Memphis area) there have been a number of people arrested with Glock "switches". It makes the local news, but I have yet to see any of them charged with possession of an illegal machine gun. The local DA is a liberal democrat known to be soft on crime. I think that a big...

Gun Games are not STREET training

This thing is still going? It quit being reasonable several pages ago. Time to call it quits. BTW: Mary Ann ;)

    Daffy Zone…..

What's the deal with ragging on CZ guys? I never knew there was any problem with them.

    Glock 完美 ?

Valid point, I never really thought about that. I do know that the steel they used was extremely hard. If you wanted custom sights or other machine work done, gunsmiths would charge you for a new cutter bit because the steel would dull it after just one use. Also consider the kind of loads...

    Glock 完美 ?

I have one of the old Norinco 1911s. They're made from some really hard steel. Rumor was that they were forged from recycled railroad track. Many of these were used as a base for some nice custom guns. Mine is box stock. Hard to find them like that anymore.

What’s In Your Pocket? Keep Your EDC Realistic

Always carry a pocket knife and a lighter. With the most basic of tools and a means to make fire, a smart man has a good chance of surviving just about anything. (y) I also carry a small micro flashlight. You'd be surprised at how handy that is. ;)

    Daffy Zone…..

When I was a kid, S&H Green stamps along with Quality stamps were a big thing. Not just grocery stores, but a lot of gas stations gave them out as well. When we had enough, we'd sit around the kitchen table with damp sponges for hours filling a bunch of books. Once I started driving, I was the...

Do You Have the Right Flashlight Skills?

I keep a Streamlight Microstream in my pocket all the time. Why is it that the older you get the more likely that anything you drop will go underneath the nearest piece of furniture?

    Daffy Zone…..

In mine and my wife's case it was Camel and Pillsbury points. We got a bunch of stuff with those thanks to Joe Camel and the Dough Boy. (y)

Glock: How The Polymer Pistol Changed the Handgun Market Forever

Never been a fan. I don't like plastic guns at all. I do own one, a Colt Mustang XSP. But it was bought for a specific purpose.

Gun Games are not STREET training

I'm well aware that we live in dangerous times. Hell, I live right next door to the most dangerous city in my state. I do carry a gun most anytime I leave the house. But I refuse to live in fear or a constant state of Condition Red. Nor do I expect boogymen to pop up around every corner. I'm...

Gun Games are not STREET training

Simunitions, force on force training and such are all well and good if you can afford it. I can't. Plus I'm old and have health issues. I'm just not up to spending a bunch of money, traveling several days and shooting buckets of expensive ammo to attend fancy classes with top instructors...

Gun Games are not STREET training

I was an active IDPA shooter for about 12 years until health issues got in the way. I considered it to be the best possible training for a real world gunfight and yes, I did compete with my EDC gear. No, there wasn't anybody shooting back. But you are required to draw from concealment, use...

    D Day

My Dad went ashore at Omaha with the 29th Infantry. He never spoke about it much, but when he did he got that look in his eyes. I knew not to push the question.

    This Is Truly Disturbing

The powers that be want kids just smart enough to hold a meaningless job and pay taxes, but don't want them to be smart enough to think for themselves.

Army Vet has case dismissed in shooting of teen daughter's predator

Dad is running for Sheriff in his county. I think this will win it for him. I'd vote for him. ;)

Gee, who could have predicted this? 😂

It just absolutely blows my mind that an old time southern state such as Virginia could turn so blue. I never would have imagined it. 🤬
