Do You Have the Right Flashlight Skills?

That’s an expensive flashlight. I like it, but knowing my sometimes (un)luck, I’d lose it.

Would you carry an Old (design) Gun?

I carry a revolver often. Is that classic enough?

Hello. My n00b General Reloading questions that seem retarded, and probably are.

Good responses thus far … I guess my first thought is, you’re OCD, and that’s ok. Second thought….might be a little on the warm side. I say load ‘em and go shoot!

Do You Have the Right Flashlight Skills?

I have had numerous LEO try to convince me that a WML is *the* way to go, and that using the high lumen lights to “light the room” is *the* way to do it. (shrugs)

    Colt’s Kodiak 2.0

Kudos to CZ Group for bringing back the Colt revolvers. I can’t say I’m going to jump on the bandwagon of new Colt wheel guns. I have two “legacy” Pythons from the 70s and a Anaconda in 45 Colt from 1993-ish that I am more than satisfied with. I know two guys who have purchased “new” Pythons...

    Yep. Predictable.

    At what point?

Uh, no, I don't get involved unless I am threatened. Furthermore, I live my life at condition yellow, so I wouldn't think I would find myself in scenario #1, #3, or #4 at any time, ever. In your fantasy scenario #2, we have so much activity at my local Wal Mart(s) that if I do find myself...

Do You Have the Right Flashlight Skills?

This topic always seems to stir up some level of debate, and probably for good reasons. I am not law enforcement, nor military trained. I see this question about lights (and WMLs) as really two distinct operations: shooting vs searching. When I use a light, I index my elbow against my hip -...

    Power vs capacity

Why Situational Awareness Is More Important Than the Gun You Carry

Situational Awareness is like the Lord’s Prayer for knowledgeable and responsible gun owners. Know it by heart. Pray it every single day.

DOJ sues CO and threatens to sue VA over restrictive gun laws

    Stonewall Jackson

163 years ago today, Stonewall Jackson died at 3:15 PM on a Sunday afternoon in a small farm office in Guinea Station, Virginia. He had told his wife that morning, “It is the Lord’s Day. I have always desired to die on a Sunday.” He got his wish. Eight days earlier at Chancellorsville...

    Smaller Guns for Defense?

It would seem to me that if I utterly failed in my situational awareness then I’m at risk of being the target of a assault/mugging or car jacking. That makes it a “Jack Ruby” scenario for me. Lots of posts in these threads seem geared towards mass shootings.

Happy Birthday - Col. Jeff Cooper

RIP. He would be 106 today. Gone, but certainly not forgotten.

    Smaller Guns for Defense?

I carry a revolver because I expect that if I have to use it, it will be effectively point blank range to maybe 3 feet.

    Homeowner Gun Safes

For starters, figure out where your safe is going to be positioned. Then buy as big a safe as you can for that space. No one ever said they wished they’d bought a smaller safe. I also agree with layers of security. A safe is merely a temporary deterrent to a thief. Generally, they are...
