    The Red Bull P-38 Lightning

P.S. Charles Lindbergh's one and only enemy kill in WWII came while flying a P-38 while assisting a Lightning group in the Pacific. IIRC it was a Japanese cargo plane.

    The Red Bull P-38 Lightning

Just ran across this short bit on Red Bull's restoration of the P-38, my favorite WWII aircraft. The P-51 gets much deserved attention, but keep in mind our top two aces in WWII flew P-38s.

Hitler did this same thing as a last resort.

Hitler did this as a last resort because he was running out of men due to combat losses and capture. I don't see Iran suffering such massive losses even with an intense air and naval campaign. Last time I checked the Basij had 1 million over what the regular army had. Of course, they may be...

How Iran got the F-14 Tomcat and kept it flying for decades

As the article says, our remaining F-14s were shredded at the big boneyard, but not before selected avionics and othe components were removed and secured. How secured I don't know. There were active parties in L.A. for example which were trying to acquire said parts on the down-low. How...

    First Noem, now Bondi.

Kristi Noem's firing was because of rampant self promotion and as we now know a "blackmailable" husband with a seedy past/present. A cabinet secretary should not be in the habit of constantly showing up at field operations. Tulsi did this recently for no other reason to be on video talking on...

    Chuck Conners Fan Club

A co-worker of my Dad's played baseball with Chuck Connors in the day. He was very tall like Connors. I also watched the Rifleman every chance I got.

Agree. I thought she would stay the term, but as you say, things work differently in the Imperial City.

It's because she's the last woman standing. In fact, I think Trump picked the female triumvirate to at least initially deflect criticism from the left about them implementing his policies. The ODNI itself is a superfluous organization created out of the post-911 chaos and finger pointing. I...

    First Noem, now Bondi.

I forgot to mention Megyn Kelly says "no" to firing her, therefore, fire her immediately.

    First Noem, now Bondi.

She should be next for several reasons, many having to do with her ludicrous self promotion on substack. and the fact she has zero. zip, nada experience in the intel field. Nice looking surfer babe though.

Godspeed, Artemis (which is filled with Hornet drivers)

Watched the launch. Brought back memories of watching all the launches from Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo. Godspeed!

US, Israel launch attack on Iran as Trump announces 'major combat operations'

Yup we had a plan and table topped it in Coronado 30 years ago.

US, Israel launch attack on Iran as Trump announces 'major combat operations'

Having HEU (90% + is desired) is one thing but the ability to machine it, have the precise HE components, the casing and the fusing, etc. is quite another. HEU in a gun device has been around since 1945 but other than the current nuclear powers with their institutional technical base have them...

I've Had My Fill - Looking For Recommendations

Correction: Texas big cities are blue. And no matter what area, the education establishment is blue to purple.

I've Had My Fill - Looking For Recommendations

I would go to Southern Idaho (Twin Falls, Jerome) if I had my druthers. If it wasn't for our little slice of heaven I would have left ???, TX several years ago. PS. Texas is not a Red state; maybe purple.

March 19, 2003, Operation Iraqi Freedom

False premise. There were several reasons for going into Iraq with WMD just one of them. If he didn't possess them, how were 5000 Kurds gassed with Sarin nerve agent? It was an issue of accountability and they were never accounted for. I would accept the History Channel's version of events...

US, Israel launch attack on Iran as Trump announces 'major combat operations'

Yup, Abu Musa. Way back when the runway there was extended, and Chinese Styx missiles were emplaced. IN Coronado we planned and exercised Navy and Marine ops against this bugger. Nowadays we wouldn't have to invade, just take the thing out.

Jellicoe weeps and Nelson isn’t taking calls any more

Not sure what you mean. In the Gulf War we had the 7th Lancers deployed next door and a UK EW unit co-located with us on the Saudi-Iraqi border. The remainder of an Armored Division was with coalition on the attack. Their Navy I'm not sure about.

    rules on buying a Ferrari....

IIRC when the Corvette C7s and C8s came out the agreement with the dealerships was that they couldn't sell these for over $65K (or thereabouts). I think there was a rule about flipping but I'm not sure about that. Anyway, used to work with a man who owned a Ferrari in the 60s-70s and he said...
