    SA-35 safety and other ?

Yes, the SA-35 just has the one thumb safety. I believe they did a great job with it too. Best designed safety lever I've ever seen on any Hi-Power. (y) Pocket carry? The SA-35 is a full sized, double stack service pistol. I don't think anybody makes pockets that big.

    Gunmaker murder suicide in MS

Walter Birdsong was fairly well known in the South. He invented the Black-T teflon gun finish which was quite popular for being extremely tough. Its a shame when the death of a family member leads to such anger. But it happens quite often. :(

    The Martians are coming!

What if they have three or even four sexes?

Circle the wagons: There’s a new revolver ridin’ into town.

If they'd add adjustable sights, I'd be interested.

    Power vs capacity

I'm not gonna say it hasn't happened, but I have yet to hear of a case where the ammo used made any difference.

    Homeowner Gun Safes

Not much I can add. But I do agree to buy bigger than you think you need. You will find ways to fill it. ;) I also prefer mechanical dial locks over electronic.

    The Martians are coming!

I wouldn't worry about an alien invasion. Aliens may drop by now and then out of morbid curiosity just to see what the humans are up to now. Earth is like the Detroit of the galaxy. Everybody knows where we are, but nobody wants to come here.

    The Martians are coming!

IIRC Klingon sex includes biting until blood is drawn and often ends in a trip to the infirmary. 😱 Them gals would kill an old man like me. But what a way to go. ;)

Father fatally shooting illegal immigrant attempting to carjack family of 8

Some years ago in Memphis an armed robber attacked a man in a mall parking lot. The victim pulled his own gun and proceeded to empty a 15 round magazine into the bad guy. Putting many of the shots into the BG after he was already on the ground. The victim said he just panicked and kept pulling...

Whats the oldest (design) gun you would carry for protection?

That may be true of the J-frame. S&W has made many refinements in the design over the years. But the hammer, trigger, cylinder and timing mechanism is still pretty much as it was over 100 years ago.

Father fatally shooting illegal immigrant attempting to carjack family of 8

He was scared and just kept pulling the trigger. Nuff said.

Whats the oldest (design) gun you would carry for protection?

The basic S&W revolver design hasn't changed much since 1899. Lots of folks carry them every day. ;)

    Favorite Handgun Company?

Depends entirely on the type of handgun. I've been collecting S&W revolvers for about 50 years now. They're my favorite wheelguns. 1911s - Colt with Springfield a close second. DA/SA semi-autos - Sig Sauer. I don't do plastic.

    Standing Headline?

That was the intent of the founders. The federal government was only to deal with the issues of the nation while the states pretty much took care of themselves. Sure ain't like that now.

EMP Strikes and Vehicles: Myth vs. Reality

I think it will depend entirely on the strength and duration of the event. A relatively short, weak EMP may do little or no damage. However a powerful, long duration event could fry everything. Most likely, if we get hit, it'll be somewhere in the middle. Older cars aren't necessarily immune. A...

What is the best survivalist technique?

In today's world I think its prudent to keep extra food, water, medical supplies and yes, ammo on hand in the event of bad weather, extended power outages, civil unrest and such. But a total EOTWAWKI event, we're all just screwed.

    Offhand Positioning

I come from a time before all this fancy stuff and vertical foregrips. I was taught the old 7 O'clock and still use it. Anything else just doesn't feel right after all these years. ;) I have tried a couple of vertical foregrips and they just didn't work for me. C-clamp- NOPE! Uncomfortable for...
