I don't have any experience with pellet guns but i do know they aren't harmless. They are often used for squirrel and other small game here in nj. So you may put more of a hurtin' on those dogs than you think. Have you thought of a paintball gun? Those will definitely leave a lasting impression...

Single stage works fine for me. Then again, i’m a hack and probably wouldn’t notice a difference. 🤔
