I own a lot of 1911s. Most of them are pretty much standard and most are in .45acp. I shot IDPA for many years with a SA 1911A1, which is now what they call the Mil-Spec model in .45acp. The only modifications were a trigger job and a long trigger.

Cooper was the guru and changed handgun shooting forever. But he was also stubborn and very opinionated. I didn't agree with everything he said. :unsure:

Made in the 50s, repaired often, some parts missing or modified, some not original. But still runs. ;)

Ronnie Barrett had two LAPD M82s in his shop for service when California banned .50 cals. He refused to send them back. ;)

At 72, I've already lived longer than anybody I know of on my Daddy's side. OTOH, I still having living Aunts and Uncles on my Momma's side that are near 100. But, I have knocked on Heaven's door twice. Just lucky they didn't let me in. IDK, I might make it another 20 years or more. Then...

Interesting that the states that have the highest gun thefts also has some of the highest numbers of gun owners. Also interesting is that those same states have less restrictions on gun ownership. Conclusion: more guns offer more chances for gun theft. :rolleyes:

I always heard good thing about the .41 Mag, but never got around to trying it. I like the .357, but never warmed up to the .44 Magnum. The .41 might be a good compromise. But, at this stage of life, I don't need another caliber to mess with. :rolleyes:

I love revolvers and have no issue at all with carrying one. But I do readily admit that my primary carry is a Commander sized 1911. By current thinking, I'm under gunned with that too as I only have 8 rounds. :rolleyes: However, more and more as I get older, I find myself carrying My S&W 642...

I love .22s of all kinds and have several .22 revolvers. I've always heard good things about the Heritage Rough Rider, but honestly, every time I looked at one, it just appeared to be poorly and cheaply made. I just didn't care for it. Maybe I'm wrong as they do seem to be very popular. A few...

My favorite semi-auto is the 1911 in either .45acp or .38 Super. (y) My favorite revolver is my S&W 4" Model 18 .22LR. Wonderfully accurate and just plain fun! :love:
