    Smaller Guns for Defense?

OK, here I go… It is my OPINION that people who think they can only carry tiny guns aren’t trying very hard. It doesn’t take much effort to carry at least a snub .38 or a compact single stack 9mm. I’m a small guy and I can carry whatever I want. But I have to WANT TO do it. But I only wear...

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

Yet another SWFA 16X scope, and a carved Berns-Martin holster and belt rig to be shown when it gets here.

Whats the oldest (design) gun you would carry for protection?

I guess 1899 vintage, with a K frame. I shoot SAs, but never felt comfortable with the idea of carry one as my primary or only gun with other choices. If I had to I would make it work, but I won’t if I don’t have to. In particular, I don’t care for the thought of having to break my grip to...

    Lets see your Fighting Shotguns

All of which are sturdy and significant pieces of solid milled steel. Even the springs are made of thick steel. None are stampings, and certainly none are… sigh… O-rings. >spit<

    Favorite Handgun Company?

Smith & Wesson Round ones and flat ones, but mostly round ones. If a gun shop has any, I’m looking. As a friend says, they are my kryptonite.

The A5 chooses to not dignify that with a reply. :)

    Anyone else into PCC’s?

    I’m one of those smart-mouths who say if I’m going to carry a rifle it might as well be in a rifle caliber. But… I do seem to have a few. Ruger PC9 9mm Marlin 1894C .357 Mag Winchester 1892 .357 Mag Ruger 44 Carbine .44 Mag S&W 76 9mm H&R Reising 50 .45ACP

    Lets see your Fighting Shotguns

Is the 7188 the 1100-based full auto? As, let’s say, troubled, as 1100s seem to be in defensive shotgun classes, I can only imagine how well the 7188 held up. No pictures right now, but I have three I consider my top ones: 1) Benelli M1 Super 90 with Surefire forend. 2) Benelli M4. 3)...

Hughes OH-6 Cayuse — Evolution of the Killer Egg

I’ve heard that, with no pilot ever saying they preferred the OH-58. I have heard that some generals preferred the OH-58 because they felt it was more dignified-looking as befitting their lofty status. Fine, let them have them.

Hughes OH-6 Cayuse — Evolution of the Killer Egg

I love these. I was so disappointed when I went to work at a helicopter company (the largest in the US at the time) and they had no Hughes 500s.

What are you doing right now??

Goofing around on my phone waiting for the IDPA match to start.

May 1, 1960, a U-2 flight piloted by Francis Gary Powers disappeared while on a flight over Russia.

I still want to make up a replica of a High Standard .22 like he had.

    Smaller Guns for Defense?

The smallest I have is a Seecamp .32. The smallest I CARRY are J frames. The largest I carry are 4” N frames. I’m much more likely to carry one than the Seecamp.

Do you live in an area with a lot of historical sites?

Nothing really I know of around here, unless you count recent history. Auto racing. I went to school 100 miles SW in Vincennes IN, which has a lot of Revolutionary War and pre-Revolutionary War history. Stomping grounds of George Rogers Clark in the “western” part of the war. The big...

    The retirement life

Exactly! I always compare it to being the guy with a pickup. Another comparison I use is it’s like if you work nights. This is probably the most accurate. Everybody knows, and everybody thinks you’re always available.

A-10 Warthog Appears To Have Become A Drone Killer

The sad truth is it doesn’t fly high and fast, and it doesn’t carry a hundred bombs, so it’s a miracle it ever made it into the inventory. Now, if the Key West agreement didn’t exist, and the army had control of CAS and an appropriate budget… Dare I dream. But it’s old! OK then. Its...
