I agree risk is to great. My wife and I both carry but avoid a lot of blue states. We especially avoid our old home state of NY. We only carry where there are reciprocal agreements.

Same with NC. NC did away with requiring a permit to purchase for those without a concealed carry. The permit to purchase was a money grab by the state. Once you paid and waited for the permit to purchase you still went through all the same checks and paperwork at the gun store.

Very true and if you live in Mecklenburg County you also must show the sheriff proof of a recent colonoscopy. The renewal process takes 2-3 months and a new permit up to 6 months.
