Do you have shooting buddies that own revolvers? Most shooters are pretty friendly. I sure if you asked someone at the local range that they'd be happy to let your Mom try whatever they have.

Yes, I highly recommend that she try some rental guns first. There are tons of good revolvers out there. They come in all sizes and weights. S&W, Colt and Ruger are at the top of the list. But for something that she won't shoot a lot, there are other cheaper options. There are tons of good...

What a Jake Brake actually does is open the exhaust valves just before the piston reaches Top Dead Center, thus dumping all the compression and the cylinder fails to fire. Yeah, I used to fix 'em.

Rifle: M1A Scout/Squad Pistol: SA-35 Shotgun: Mossberg 590 Back-up: Suppressed Browning Buckmark

This seems to be the question of the day. Nobody seems to know just what is going on, but there's plenty of speculation. Beretta is attempting a hostile take over. Ruger is thinning out some slow selling models, They're only temporarily dropping some models while they update old machines...

They're just too specific. Not enough interest to keep them going. General gun forums that cover a wide range of topics seem to be growing. Even maker specific forums like S&W, Sig, Ruger etc have an "Other Brands" forum that covers everything else and is one of their busiest.

I've never owned one, but they do have a good reputation. At that price, I'd be tempted. But like Captain O, I already have too many .380s.

Is your Tomcat one of the newer guns? Early Tomcats had issues with frame rails cracking and were limited in what they could shoot by chamber pressure. Generally American ammo was OK, but the European stuff was too much for it. Beretta fixed this some years ago, but there are still older guns...

I'm still pissed at Ruger for discontinuing the Security Six line. 🤬 Seems like they're dropping all of their DA revolvers. 😞

Kill it and grill it! :D

I'm sure he'll be plumb heartbroken to hear this. ;)

We don't have schools anymore. For several decades now what we have are Liberal Indoctrination Centers. Our kids are being brainwashed starting in Kindergarten. 🤬

Sounds more like a trigger control issue to me. Shooting low and left indicates too much finger on the trigger.

I know you mean well, but I've always found it much better to let a woman choose her own gun.

I've long believed that the .32s were vastly under rated calibers. I have no problem with it at all. :) S&W/Walther PPK/S .32 acp Now if you want real pocket guns, how about a Colt 1903 in .32? Shown here with its cousins the Model 1908 .380 and Vest Pocket .25. ;)

I admit to be a bit OCD about cleaning my guns. If it gets fired, it gets cleaned. ;)

Back in 1992 my oldest son was in Jr High when he ran afoul of the local gangsters. Three of them jumped him after class and were beating on him pretty good, but they were stopped by the school's M/Sgt ROTC instructor who happened by. Later in the security office I watched a 13 year old boy...

Happy Birthday Bubba! (y)

Now that is tempting! But I'm still holding out for a lightweight 4".

Sounds like a good way to burn up a lot of expensive ammo.
