When I bought my first firearm as an adult (1993-ish?), a revolver, wad-cutters were common in most stores that sold ammo near me. I practiced with them because they cut perfect holes in targets that were easy to see (long before splatter targets). I haven't seen a wad-cutter/full-flat-nose...

You got hell of a crappy hand from that dealer...there seems to be no rhyme or reason for severity of symptoms.

Research is your friend. Lots of time...lots of sources. Written, video, chats... I've heard sonic cleaners can be life-savers for some suppressors, maybe not for all. Keep in mind, I'm not an owner or user of a suppressor. Just absorbed stuff over the years.
