Any trips plan this summer ?

Buddy is trying to convince me to join him in an iron-butt rally...not sure I want to risk hating a hobby I love for bragging rights...1500 miles in 36 hours seems more pain than pleasure.

Do you break in your new rifle ?

I know guys who fire 1 shot, then clean and wait X number of minutes for cooling....then shot 2....clean, wait minutes...my god that is not for me....especially since my range charges by the hour, and I couldn't give a schnitz.

    Amazing How Quickly We Age

Hey Chance, I took my Hunter's Safety course in 1980, and we practiced and tested out shooting .22LRs (Those vinyl-stocked semi-autos) in the basement of an active public grade school. Yes, a public grade school had a shooting range as recently as 1980. I can't come close to anything else you...

UTG for the win, the ultimate MP5 accessory

yes, followed the instructions. The pressure point of the cam lever (unpainted aluminum part of the lever (cam-point?) that squeezes the pic rail) is all fouled up. I'm getting a return label from Eotech. And there I sat in the store hemming and hawing over quick-release or traditional screw...

UTG for the win, the ultimate MP5 accessory

I'd upload pics of the various rails that the Eotech won't secure to, but we all know what a pic-rail looks like, and that it is not an MLOK rail...neither my AR nor the Hellion even have MLOK rails on the topside (like the UTG). Besides, that also entails staging and taking pics, transferring...

UTG for the win, the ultimate MP5 accessory

Just an update, I had a horrible first exchange with Eotech customer service via e-mail regarding my problem. They told me I'm trying to mount the EXPS2-0 sight to an MLOK rail instead of a 1913 pic rail. The UTG-Pro does have an MLOK rail on the top, but the 3 MLOK slots are immediately...

UTG for the win, the ultimate MP5 accessory

Thanks...but I brought my optic and firearm to my dealer (from whom I bought bought both except the hand guard), and the Eotech did not clamp on my hand guard (pic rail on the Leapers)....or the pic-rail on his Aero-precision AR pic-rail. Thus, he told me to contact Eotech for a path forward...

UTG for the win, the ultimate MP5 accessory

Anyone here mount a Eotech EXPS2-0 to the UTG Pro guard? I can't get the optic to get tight with the adjustments provided by the quick-release lever on the Eotech...at the point I can BARELY close the lever, the optic is still loose on the pic rail. Taking in the shop to have them show me what...

    9mm revolvers

Re .9mm/.38/.357, Ive been using the same (brass) brushes for cleaning for 9mm and .38/.357 for decades. That implies a certain similarity in caliber...Never shot 9 in a .38/.357...don't plan to do so, but you get my drift. Hell, maybe brushes for 9mm are labeled for all 3 "calibers"....maybe...

    Is Ultrasonic Cleaning Worth It?

Couple vids on YouTube, need to choose correct cleaning fluid, purple SimpleGreen was/is popular, some cleaning liquids are corrosive so choose wisely. Still need to disassemble a BCG to get properly clean, though.

What are you doing right now??

3:21am at the moment, got up to check my brisket on the pellet smoker. Good thing I set the alarm to check, it fouled and went out. Restarted, waiting for it to come back up to temp and continue. I'm blaming it on Biden voters....

    SIG P-229 MAG ISSUES

As Beltfed said (in not as many words), springs do not wear out by being held compressed. They wear out from repeated coiling-and-uncoiling (compression-and -decompression). IF the springs were made from the proper steel (and they were formed to spec), the springs are not the problem.
