An honest person wouldn't want to be a politician. If by chance an honest person is elected, it won't be long before the corrupt system makes them just as crooked as everybody else. That's just the way of politics in this nation.

Open carry is legal here and I do see it from time to time. But it is rare enough that it draws undue attention. I prefer to not draw attention. As a friend of mine once said "The bad guy shouldn't realize that you're armed until the second bullet hits him in the chest."

When I worked for the City, we had an Animal Control officer who was working on his second career. He was a retired Police Officer. Each year he would join a group of full time officers on the range to keep up his firearm qualification. All these much younger guys with the latest whizz bang...

If you can make the shot, more power to ya. Realistically, at my age and condition, about 200 yards is as far as I dare push it. I'd be thinking hard about trying that too. :rolleyes: But then, at my age and condition, I quit hunting years ago. 😞

A large percentage of illegals in this country own at least one firearm. Just ask 'em. They'll tell you they do and they don't care about the law. 🤬

Just out of curiosity, I looked up MTV on my local cable guide. Actually had to use the voice search feature to find it. I checked the schedule for the next week. Not a damned thing worth watching. They might as well take it off the air. 🤬

I remember it. I was 27 with a wife and a 2 year old son. I was working third shift at the time. They made a big deal out of it and it was really popular. Folks would keep their VCRs loaded and ready to record their favorite videos. I watched it some, but never really got into it. :rolleyes:

I have an Uberti 1875 clone and really like it. If you notice, the grip sits just a little farther back than on the Colt/Ruger style single actions. This keeps the back of the trigger guard from slamming into the middle knuckle of my shooting hand. ;) I also have a 1911R1. I think these guns...

I remember them showing us Thermite grenades in basic training. They're used to destroy stuff you don't want the enemy to have. Place one on top of the engine in a vehicle and a couple of minutes later it burns completely through and drops out the bottom. I can't imagine a civilian use for them.
