    New gun decision

I really don't like plastic striker fired pistols. I don't like pistols without safeties. My EDC is a EMP 4, 9 mm. That said I have a Glock S&W 40 that is a little tricked out but it is my walk in the woods gun. I first decide on the caliber gun for the job at hand. Then how will I carry it...

What would you like to see Springfield armory make next?

If you make a pistol caliber carbine make it worth while and make a 10mm!

    Brass or nickel

I loaded the hunting /carry rounds, the stuff I was extra careful loading, in nickle. It is a little slicker and less likely to malfunction. The practice /plinking stuff went in brass.

    CCW with a 10mm

I am getting puny in my old age. I have osteo arthritis. My trusty bone doctor just told me today I may be looking at a right shoulder replacement. My Glock has a Lone Wolf ported barrel, stainlless guiderod, and 20 pound spring to take some of the thump out, and Advantage sights so I can see...

    Precision Rifle Choice

I had two rifles that shot sub MOA groups. The first was cheap. It was an Interarms Mark X in 30/06. A carbine in a Manlicher stock. It shot groups the size of my hand. Threw the stock away and glass bedded it in a cheap Bell and Carlson fiberglass stock with a kit from Brownells. Put in a...

    CCW with a 10mm

I am 76 and now have 10mm lite [40 S&W] that I carry in a chest rig from an outfit in Alaska when I walk for exercise. I live in the middle of 80 wooded acres and have around 3 miles of UTV trails I maintain that we walk on. The 10mm is a great cartridge, much better than a 45 or 9mm especially...

    CCW with a 10mm

Way back in the old days Springfield Armory made a 10mm with a Peter Stahl slide and barrel on a model 70 bottom end with a 5 in. barrel if my old brain is retrieving accurate data today. I carried, hand loaded for, and shot that for a lot of years, but I was much younger then. Now I carry an...

Single-action in pocket carry? Is this a stupid move?

I have an EMP 4 and I will slip it in a back pocket for short term carry. It comes with a polymer paddle holster that is decent plus I bought a really good custom leather holster if it is going to be on all day. With a grip and manual safety you don't have to worry about blowing parts of your...

    Do you carry while camping?

I have one plastic gun, a Glock 23 in S&W 40, that is my rough and tumble gun. I have a Chest rig from a company in Alaska to carry it in. But at 76 I don't rough and tumble much anymore and being an old guy my heart lies with the 1911's. That single action trigger is so sweet.

    Do you carry while camping?

I always carry everywhere except bed and then it is close by. An EMP 4 is my constant companion. Our house is in the middle of 80 acres of woods and I have several miles of UTV trails that we ride/walk on and I never leave home without it. In town, on the road, or on the trails you just don't...
