    B-17 Gunners vs. Luftwaffe

Sorry to make you write an essay to prove wrong my 40 word comment on the B17. Everything in said essay is common knowledge (even to me). I've seen it mentioned elsewhere about the "mobile fortress" thing and I only offered my aside because it's not something you see everywhere. Like I said...

Pandemic Prepping Lessons: What Did We Learn?

I was pretty well stocked up before covid so what it did for me was make me double down. What I had BP (before pandemic) I have double of now. Whatever I need I buy. My nosy neighbors wonder why I buy TP every week. Can never have enough of anything.

    B-17 Gunners vs. Luftwaffe

One thing never mentioned in the history of the B17 is the name "Flying Fortress". It's true that with all that armament it was a Flying Fortress but before the war the military was looking for something that could engage ships beyond the range of the artillery of a coastal fortress. The B17 was...

Ayoob: Why You’re Wrong About the XD

I have the Springfield xdm-e 3.8 in 45acp. I think I've found my forever concealed carry piece. Always wanted to carry 45acp but not a 1911 and not a fan of Glock. This piece fills the bill in every department.

Don’t Do These Things with Your 1911!

A habit I've gotten into is to put my thumb in front of the hammer when lowering the hammer then let it slip out the last quarter of an inch while easing down the hammer. Works on SAA revolvers or any hammer fired gun. I do it on an empty chamber too just to stay in the habit. Sometimes it'll...

Douglas AC-47 Spooky — The Magic Dragon Gunship

Before the Spooky and before the A10 the B25G medium bomber was an excellent gunned up gunship. Stories go that it would stall out when all guns were fired and it was capable of cutting Japanese destroyers in two. Nose mounted and cheek mounted .50s and some had a .40 caliber cannon mounted. I'd...

Springfield’s California Legal Pistols: Hellcat, Hellcat Pro and XD-M Elite

California compliant handguns are one thing but a California compliant rifle with those grip wings on them are something else. It looks like it would make it hard to use if not just unusable for what the weapon was designed for. Makes me glad I live in the great state of Kentucky.

    How to Store Ammo

In the 60s and 70s my father in law was a town constable. When he died I inherited his ammo (no guns though darn it.) which was mostly .38 spl wadcutters. He kept them in those leather belt holders. I don't know how old they were when I got them and they sat around for a long time. When I...

Four Reasons the XD Sub-Compact 9mm Is Ideal for EDC

I wear jackets in the cooler months and untucked shirts in the warmer ones so printings not an issue. The one issue I have with the gun itself (and it's the only issue) is the mag release is a bit stiff. Maybe it'll loosen with use. Other than that it's a fine edc.

Four Reasons the XD Sub-Compact 9mm Is Ideal for EDC

Been carrying an xmd-e 3.8 in .45acp for a while now and love it. I use IWB or OWB depending on season and both ways are fine. I've carried a few guns in the past but this is my favorite.
