    Britain’s Legendary Brown Bess

Watch the photo captions. The first one in the article referred to the Brown Bess as a "rifle".

    Don’t Make These Weaponlight Mistakes!

My good friend and LEO Brother failed to mention one of my favorites; the Safariland RLS (Rapid Light System). This Tactical Light can be carried on a belt with an integral clip and used as a handheld flashlight or in about 1.5 seconds it can be mounted (with its integral mounting system) on the...

    Do You Need a Laser?

I discovered at a shooting school that laser sights requiring the press of a button or switch may end up not being used when the excrement hits the oscillating device. I now ONLY use laser sights that are instinctively activated when the handgun is held properly.

Carrying a full size handgun? Do you do IWB or OWB?

I carry 99.5% OWB at 5 o'clock in a pancake style holster. My gun has basically been in the same place on my hip for some 44 years, so I can't see moving it now.

Carrying a full size handgun? Do you do IWB or OWB?

No matter if it's a revolver or self-loader, I carry concealed in an OWB pancake-style belt holster, positioned just behind my right hip. I've carried there for 40-some-odd-years, don't see any reason to change.

    Your Best Home Defense Gun?

Good article Fred. I agree with you; a purely home defense handgun can be any size and probably the sub-compacts aren't a good idea, unless the gun will be dual-use. A medium-sized pistol can be very versatile; if it has an accessory rail, a tactical light is a good choice. I also like a laser...

How Do You Carry Back Up Ammo?

How...for a pistol, in a belt mag-pouch, 8 o'clock position; for a revolver, in a Bianchi Speed Strip in the right pocket. Why...not so much for spare ammo, but with an auto-loader you MUST carry a spare mag in case you have to drop your magazine to clear a serious malfunction such as a double-feed.
