Contemplating the major shooters in the collection - handgun edition.

Based on some posts/discussion in this group and others, I was thinking about how I'd rank the major players in my handgun collection. (I left out 22LR, older selections, and revolvers - as I am just not shooting those regularly.) Tiers are simply based on what I enjoy shooting the most and...

For discussion - what is it about Glock Culture.....?

This seems to be one of the most authentic and objective gun forums I frequent - so here goes - Interested in your thoughts on the points in the video as well as the whole "Glock Culture" thing. I posted the video below to a private facebook gun group I'm in. I think the dude makes some great...

2023 - Year of Acquisition and Grief

2023 was an anomaly year for me in firearms purchases. I will never have a year like last again. My mother died in March after a 10 yr battle with dementia. For the last 3-4 yrs it left a shell of her physical body - no ability to speak/communicate, walk ,etc. Amazingly she survived Covid in...

    Scheels Store - OMG

Yesterday - 1st time in a Scheels store (new in Chandler,AZ). OMG - they had almost everything firearms related in stock (well not almost everything - but way above and beyond anything I've ever seen in a physical store). Entire store was pretty impressive as well.

    Something New/Something Different (10mm)

22LR, 38/.357, 9mm, 223/556, 300AAC, 12 gauge.............. ....for years I told myself I did not, or would not add another caliber to the collection. Stocking up and maintaing the cache for those calibers was enough. That idea made it easy to avoiding the temptations of add .40, 45, 308...

    Shooting and Prescription Eyeglasses Question(s)

I'm 59 with astigmatism in both eyes. (Also Type 1 diabetic - but no eye damage - just possible inconsistency in vision with fluctuating blood sugars). My distance vision is decent for my age, but the issue is mostly reading and the astigmatism. I have noticed deterioration over the last 7...

    Magazine Organization/Storage (ARs/etc.?)

As a companion post to "Magazine Organization/Storage (Handguns) I was looking for an AR (or AK) type magazine carrier bag. Came across this one on Amazon and it was delivered today. Works prefect for my needs and was actually better than expected. (it does NOT have Molle straps) *holds 16...

    Magazine Organization/storage (Handguns)

I'm not really "anal" in other aspects of my life - however I am with my firearms. I also think I need 8-10 magazines for every firearm I own. A few years ago I was looking for a way to store/organize my handgun magazines. I went with this way - Magazine pouches for each handgun. color...

Sig P226 Legion SAO vs Staccato P (Sept 1, 2023)

(Posting here because questions asked and discussions within this group directly led me to the acquisition and comparison of both firearms. I mostly blame SimonRL directly.) First - let me say up front - the 40 yr old me looks at the total amount of money the 59 yr old me has in just these 2...

Holosun AEMS (Green) - new to me

Picked up my 1st Holosun AEMS (green) dot yesterday. I'm a huge Holosun fan. On ARs and SBRs - I use the Holosun 510s, 503s, and a 512 - mostly in green, but a couple in gold (either works best for my particular aging, astigmatism eyes. Con on the gold is I have to run it a lot brighter than...

    Prodigy Questions -

I know very little about 1911s or 2011s - Handled a 4.25" and 5" Prodigy at a LGS today. The 4.25 slide was smooth, but that 5" slide was ridiculously smooth - very clear difference. Is this due to the springs in each model - i.e. is this normal across any/all models of Prodigy between 4/25 and...
