Im inclined to say the 20moa rail has NOTHING to do with ring height; but Id have to see the rifle/rail and scope to be sure. It depends on the length of the rail and the length of the scope but I really doubt youll be able to use low ringsThat was my thoughts exactly but the store I bought it from said it needed the low mount because of the 20 MOA picatinny rail but they didn’t have one.![]()
Very little, the comb of the stock has a larger affect IMHO.Im inclined to say the 20moa rail has NOTHING to do with ring height; but Id have to see the rifle/rail and scope to be sure.
I've always used medium rings on most of my scopes. My last Vortex Strike Eagle even though it is a 44mm scope it has a 34mm tube. I had to go to low rings to align my eye without raising my head unnaturally. Basically every time I went to use the scope I had to fiddle around to get my eye right. That's not proper. Thanks to all contributors. I appreciate the help and to close the loop, I tried a medium and it was too high for my cheek weld. Then found a set of Leupold PRW2 Low rings and like in the story of the three bears , it was just right. First time I’ve ever used low rings with a 50mm objective but my dealer was right.
