1st off, many thanks to our Vets. Second...what is the best bayonet for the M1A?

From what I have read/heard, the M6/M8A1 scabbard is the best match, (i have the bayonet lug from Springfield), but was curious if the M5A1 from Korea for the M1 was also compatible?

My grandfather served during Korea so it got me thinking it might be a nice touch for my M1A standard issue/walnut. I'd also be inclined to get some advice on matching scabbards!

Anyways, thank you again to all of our military veterans, active duty folks, and first-responders & law-enforcement. Yall do the dirty work for this great country, and it is much appreciated.

If memory serves me the M5A1 bayonet only fits on an M1. The M14/M1A take the M6 bayonet. If you already have a M5A1 bayonet then you will need to find an M1 rifle to attach it to.
