Of course, the launch vessel must clear the area before the blast gives them terminal cancer (or worse)

My favorite is the Davy Crockett. The launch crew is within the effective range of it! It is peak Cold War engineering.

We are blessed to have a couple "National Atomic Museums." There is one in Albuquerque New Mexico officially named the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History. The other in Las Vegas NV is officially the National Atomic Testing Museum. Both are well worth a visit if you are near either.
