2500 yo tattooed lady

Interesting piece on tattoos found on a 2500 yo woman mummy from Russia. One ponders if they were status symbols as some groups today have, gangs , prison etc, or if they were strictly decorative.

2,500-year-old Siberian 'ice mummy' had intricate tattoos - BBC News https://share.google/RgzM22CY3zjICijRD

The drawings look very well done and intricate. And look to have taken many hours to accomplish.

I have always thought of tattoos but never could decide on something I want permanently on me. Hell I cannot even wear the same watch all day, or carry the same handgun or knife day after day. I think I come up with somethibg and before I get there think hmmm nah that won't work.

Get a “ ??? “ tat on one shoulder !

😉😇

I have mostly avoided tattoos because they cost too much... and the 1 free one i was offered i couldn't hang out long enough to get it because of work...

The tattoo i want is a bar-code on the back of my neck that can be scanned and read by store clerks but picking the right bar-code has/would be the tough choice...

Hmmm I worked with bar codes and laser printers a lot in IT for manufacturing. Not sure how well a person with a needle could print the bar code lines into a precise enough pattern to be read correctly. Interesting idea, if its possible.

I worked in retail and i'm a sci-fi nerd so that tattoo fits a few things for me and was/is a small part on why that tattoo never got done...

It might be possible, but I know the line sizes, spacing, and both stop and start characters must be precise to be number one, read, and number two say what you wish to have it say. There are a number of different bar code types too. It was part of my programming design to print out barcode label for lot control for the automotive industry.

I will have to look into this now thst i sm curious lol, interesting possibility.

Lordy!
Keep quiet about THAT idea. If the wrong administration gets wind of it…. Ugh.

My scars have stories.

For me, a tattoo just says, "I got drunk and sat in a chair for an hour."

I have many. I was never drunk for any of them though. In fact most reputable tattoo artists won’t do you if you’re drunk.
Thanks. That's good to know.

Since alcohol can affect clotting factors, I could see the wisdom of not drinking before or after.

I confess, I took literary license elsewhere, also. Not ALL tattoos are done in one hour, either.
