Discussion: SBRs and Suppressors: What’s Now Legal?

Unfortunately, I live in the Deep Purple state of Ohio where its still illegal to buy a suppressor without jumping through all the ATF hurdles. ☹️

My question... and we know it will happen. When the "other side" takes overpower again, and it will happen probably sooner than later unfortunately. But what keeps them from just reversing everything again and making all this illegal, again.

Just curious. I think laws need to be passed to protect our 2A from a back and forth. jmo

Lawsuits. Illinois loves been sued over 2A stuff. They’re even been sued by the federal government.

The fact that this was a SCOTUS ruling on it being un-constitutional makes it harder to just outlaw, it would have to go through the courts again. Now if they increase the numbers of Supreme court judges and load it with leftist Supreme court judges....

Well, sure. Like almost anything affecting our daily lives, we are subject to the whims of any administration / agenda.

I'm certainly not trying to offer you any advice beyond the obvious - seek out an attorney in the jurisdiction where you live for a more definite statement of the law(s) that may affect you.

What we have is probably best described as "guidance," at this time. It's not the law applicable to everyone everywhere, but an interpretation and application of a case, that is all. Your State likely already has laws on the books that if different, still need to be adhered to.

In the end, we all have to make the decisions that best fit our circumstances and do so with confidence that we have done all the due-diligence required within the laws we are subject to (and to our own satisfaction).
