p220 is a nice .45i'd been shooting a 629 in 44mag (8.375") for 2 years before getting a 1911 in 45acp....................i could barely hit the dirt with the 1911 as i was terrible with that firearm. thought maybe it was because of the bullets in the 45 were half the speed of the 44 was? i gave it 1k rounds tryout to see if i'd improve............nope, didn't happen so off it went..............27 years later i bought a g21 and boy id it change for the best...............i could shoot it very well, so it got me to believe it wasn't the 45 being the issue, but the 1911.......................now i'm on the hunt to but a few more 45acp's that AREN'T a 1911............p220, whatever cz model is, possibly a hk (not sure about which 1 or more) and not sure of what else is out there.
not sure about the fn due to the strange grip texture. the fn57 is about all i can stand. can't imagine something with more power like the 10 or 45. probably need to get hands on first? those places you and @SimonRL go do they have a good rental selection on 45's?p220 is a nice .45
Also, look at HK and FN in .45![]()
It actually replicated the .45 Schofield cartridge, which was more commonly issued for use in .45 Colt revolvers than .45 Colt was.I love the .45 but I do hate AI presentations “the point 45”, “point 39, point 357 and point 460 Rowland”, oh the 1 300 fps”. Also, The origin was in fact the requirement for an auto replicate the old .45 Colt cartridge in the 1973 Colt that the military had used for decades in the 1800’s and then were pulled from reserve to deal with the Moro’s after the .38 LC failed to get reliable stops against determined enemies, Please let’s have REAL reviews by humans not computer generated stuff,
Sorry about that.I love the .45 but I do hate AI presentations “the point 45”, “point 39, point 357 and point 460 Rowland”, oh the 1 300 fps”. well, being a 1911 fanboy as i am, i do have also a S&W 45 MP 2.0i'd been shooting a 629 in 44mag (8.375") for 2 years before getting a 1911 in 45acp....................i could barely hit the dirt with the 1911 as i was terrible with that firearm. thought maybe it was because of the bullets in the 45 were half the speed of the 44 was? i gave it 1k rounds tryout to see if i'd improve............nope, didn't happen so off it went..............27 years later i bought a g21 and boy id it change for the best...............i could shoot it very well, so it got me to believe it wasn't the 45 being the issue, but the 1911.......................now i'm on the hunt to but a few more 45acp's that AREN'T a 1911............p220, whatever cz model is, possibly a hk (not sure about which 1 or more) and not sure of what else is out there.
i got into the 1911 platform and 45ACP during the scandemic..I'm a long time fan of the .45acp and the 1911 pistol. For most of my adult life I've trusted them to protect me. I have no doubt that they'll get the job done.
The only non-1911 .45 I own is a Sig P220. In fact, I shot it just last week. Great pistol!![]()
