45 auto day

Seeins it's gonna be a while before i can shoot again cause of rain fixin to start and keep goin for a while and the 12th i got to have knee surgery or something like that. so i figured i'd break out the 45's.

now i ain't gonna lie, wind was blowin really hard and i cheated like a big dog. leaned my hand against a tree and moved the targets up to 2 feet.

First off was the Girsan Untouchable, for a 350 dollar 1911 worked really well. shot 50 rounds outta each pistola.

Second was the Ruger SR1911, now i figured this thing was gonna kick like a buckin bronc since it's so light but it really didn't.

Third was the Glock 21, ole gun was really accurate and less recoil then the 1911's. but like a glock felt like holdin a 2x4. also it kept throwin the brass at my face. bounced several off my safety glasses.

By the time i got through my old dilapidated hands were tired. lol

Good shooting, may look into a Girsan

Mr. @Belt Fed,

Now that's some 1911 fun! Your targets look great, all those holes touching each other like those bullets are in love. ;)

I rented a Ruger 1911 at my range and really enjoyed it. But when I found my Garrison, excellent used condition, at a great price, I couldn't resist.

I'll put you on my prayer list for a quick and full recovery after your knee surgery.

Thanks for sharing your fun!

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Don't kid yourself, any day shooting is a good day, no matter if leg or arm is in a cast, you're on crunches or even a wheel chair ❗

Well, I think 45 day is the only pistol day I "celebrate", but I do like to plan events around .223 day, Feb 2nd and 3rd. lol and my favorite, .308 day, March 8th. When I get to bring out my M1A. I guess you could do 5.56 days (May 5th and 6th), 7.62 day (2 days in July) and what .300 Blackout day the whole month of March? lol

I have too much time on my hands. I'm recently retired. My hobbies are mostly Motorcycle riding and the Gun Range. (and the Dems want to take them both away,)
;)
