First they are just plain fun but second they can fill a small tactical niche. Since they arent firearms but they exceed 50 caliber, they can be mailed directly to your door (not sure about Blue states) BUT you cant possess any "anti personnel" rounds, so no rubber baton rounds or sting ball rounds. You CAN shoot smoke, pepper (for animal defense), Flash Bangs (also for animals), flares, star burst fireworks etc. OH yes and chalk marking rounds.

They can be had in pistol size, M203 underbarrel mounted, and standalone. They are easy to reload the fired cases without any tools. Loaded ammo runs between $10 (if your lucky) and $35 for the super cool stuff

Launchers run from sub $500 to $1500+ LMT makes one of the best (its a M203 type). They run in the $2500 range. B&T makes a go to war quality one for somewhere around $1800. Theres also a multi shot revolver type thats pretty cool for the $1800 range

We can discuss the tactical merits if you like???
